Alkaline water electrolysis,as an ancient and developed industry technology to prepare hydrogen, has received wide attention for a long time. However, during the practical alkaline water electrolysis process, the extortionate hydrogen overpotential makes the efficiency of energy usage low.And thus the high energy consumption hinders the further development of this technology. So,it is meaningful to research novel, efficient and stable cathode material, which has ultra low hydrogen overpotential, for the sake of using the alkaline water electrolysis to prepare hydrogen more widely. In present study, the main method to produce novel electrodes combined co-depositing and chemical selective dissolution. The electrodes, which had high hydrogen evolution reaction?HER?activity were nickel based MoS2-Ni electrode and nickel based Mo-Ni electrode with the nickel foil or foam nickel acting as matrix. And further experiments were conducted to analyze what influences the composition of deposition solution and the conditions of preparation process had on the hydrogen evolution reaction activity of electrode.Under present experimental conditions, the nickel foil based MoS2-Ni composite electrode had better HER performance with the ZnSO4 concentration of 28.8 g L-1,the NiSO4 concentration of 50 g L-1,MoS2 particles of 2 g L-1.And this electrode had the structure of three dimensions nano-sheets,which showed curved pleats.More unsaturated sulfur atoms, which can improve the HER activity of electrode, were exposured on the edges of pleats than on other aears. In addition, the suitable conditions were obtained to prepare the foam nickel based MoS2-Ni electrode.Namely, the current density was 100 mA cm-2,the electrodeposition time was 20 min and the electrodeposition temperature was 40oC.Moreover,the electrolysis experiment to test stability revealed that both the foam nickel based MoS2-Ni and Mo-Ni electrodes had excellent HER performance and stability, meaning their bright industrial application prospects.
