The welding quality of pressure vessels closely relates to the safety and reliability in the use of products.Because ultrasonic testing can quickly,non-destructively and accurately detect flaws,inclusions,cracks,etc.inside the work piece weld,defects in the work piece can be positioned qualitative,assessment and diagnosis,therefore,it is widely used in the welding quality inspection field as one of the conventional non-destructive testing methods.However,in the production process of mass-products,due to the problems of large human factors,low detection efficiency,poor detection consistency,high false detection rate,and high labor intensity,the detection mode is gradually Manual detection raised to automatic detection.In this article,an ultrasonic automatic inspection and control system for the defect of straight welds of thin-walled and ultra-long pressure pipe fittings is designed and completed in order to meet the project requirements for automatic detection of welding quality of ultra-long thinwalled pressure pipe fittings.Based on the analysis and research of related technologies for ultrasonic testing of thinwalled pressure vessels at home and abroad,the overall framework and implementation scheme of the ultrasonic detection and control system are designed according to the production conditions and technological requirements;The power control system of the pipe clamp was designed to achieve the clamping control of the whole pipe after the feeding.According to the detection problem of the straight weld defect flaw of the pipe,the rotating power control system of the pipe was designed and the straight welding of the pipe was realized.The positioning of the seam is determined.For the thin wall thickness of the pipe body,a double-point focusing quadrature probe set based on Lamb waves,an ultrasonic probe detection device and a motion control system integrated with transmission and reception are designed,and a straight weld axis is realized.Orthogonal detection and motion control of directional and circumferential defects;Aimed at the problem of unstable power supply and interference in industrial sites,safety control systems for voltage conversion,power distribution,and current limiting protection were designed to achieve safe and reliable operation of each power system.For the safety of the detection system,a safe signal detection and safety control system was designed to ensure the detection the safe operation of the system.This system takes PC+PLC as the core,and based on the Modbus RTU communication protocol,through the visual design of the human-machine interaction interface of the detection control instruction and the industrial touch display,the effective control of various system states such as power drive,detection movement and safety control is completed.Provide a reliable guarantee for product testing.Through the system’s software and hardware tests and engineering application tests,the overall performance,functionality and stability of the system have met the design requirements,which meets the engineering application requirements for the industrial automation testing of ultra-long thin wall pressure pipe welding quality.The designed system has been applied in the factory assembly line project.
