Evaluate The Well Wall Stability And Reservior Fracturing Character By Utilizing The LWD Data

Logging while drilling(LWD)technology is developed based on conventional logging,which has been widely applied to oil and gas field exploration and development abroad.LWD technology can achieve stratum data while drilling,without putting conventional logging instrument inside the borehole after drilling,which can significantly improve the exploration efficiency and accuracy,save operation time and reduce development cost.Currently,LWD is mainly applied for geosteering and well path control,etc.The paper primarily research the utilizing of LWD data to realize the well wall stability,interpret stratum mineral components and reservoir fracturing property,so as to provide reliable basis for field drilling and well completion decision.(1)Well Wall Stability Evaluation while DrillingEstablish the stratum three-pressure profile of the case well according to the log data,and determine the reasonable well drilling fluid density window.Explain the well wall instability by combining the well history and geological data of the case well.(2)Stratum Mineral Components Interpretation while DrillingThe paper conducts exploratory research to analyze the stratum mineral component profile by using the log data,which can make the operator discover the clay mineral contents change while drilling and adjust the slurry properties timely to avoid accidents.Meanwhile,the calculated stratum mineral components contents can be the basic data for evaluating reservoir fracturing property.(3)Reservoir Fracturing Property EvaluationThe parameters of brittleness index and fracture toughness,etc.are calculated based on existing researches,which can evaluate the reservoir-fracturing index.Combining fracability and TOC profile,it can provide useful reference for fracturing work.According to case well inspection,it has a certain reference value.
