In this paper,methyl methacrylate(MMA)and maleic anhydride(MAh)copolymer was synthesized by emulsion polymerization and solution polymerization.And the copolymers were used as the compatibilizer for PA6/PC blends.The properties of blends were investigated.1.First,the effect of the composition of PA6/PC blends on the mechanical properties of the blends was investigated.It was found that the mechanical properties of the blends,that PA6 or PC fractions were higher,were better than those of the intermediate composition blends.Secondly,the copolymers with the maleic anhydride copolymerization content of 20% were added into the blends with different composition.The effect of the amount of copolymer on the properties of the blends was examined.It was found that the amount of copolymer had no significant effect on the mechanical and thermal properties of the blends with compositions of 90/10 and 10/90,and the melting and crystallization behavior of the blends with composition 75/25 and 25/75.With the increase of the amount of copolymer,the corresponding glass transition temperature of PC in the blend with PC content of 25% reduced.And the mechanical properties of the material were improved obviously.However,if the amount of copolymer was too much,the properties fell instead.2.Three copolymers with different maleic anhydride copolymerization contents were synthesized by emulsion polymerization and were added into PA6/PC blends with composition 75/25.The effects of copolymer content and maleic anhydride content on the properties of the blends were investigated.It was found that when the content of maleic anhydride in the copolymer increased,the corresponding glass transition temperatures of the two components of the blend were close to each other.And the compatibility was increased.But when the content of the copolymer was too high,it was not conducive to reducing the size of the dispersed phase.At the same dosage,the mechanical properties of the blends increased with the increment of maleic anhydride content in the copolymer.When the amount of copolymer increased,the corresponding glass transition temperatures of the two components of the blend were close to each other.The compatibility increased.The size of the dispersed phase decreased.And the mechanical properties gradually increased.When the amount was too much,the size of the dispersed phase increased.The mechanical properties decreased.The best dosage was 8%.3.Four copolymers with different maleic anhydride copolymerization contents were synthesized by solution polymerization and were added into PA6/PC blends with composition of 75/25.The effect of the amount of copolymer with a copolymerization content of 20% on the mechanical properties of the blends was examined.It was found that the blend had the best mechanical properties when the addition amount was 2%.The effect of copolymerization content of maleic anhydride on the properties of the blends was investigated when the amount of copolymers was the same.It was found that the corresponding glass transition temperatures of the two components were close to each other after adding the copolymers.The compatibility became better.The copolymerization content showed little effect on the glass transition temperature.With the increment of copolymerization content,the disperse phase size of blends gradually decreased and the mechanical properties increased.When the copolymerization content was over 10%,the dispersion morphology and mechanical properties of the blends do not change evidently.
