Energy is the backbone of modern industry and the driving force for sustainable development of the national economy.Petroleum and biomass are one of the most widely used energy.They produce a lot of solid waste in the process of use:petroleum coke and bio-coke.It is not only economical efficiency but also environmentally friendly,if these cokes can be used.In this paper,the characteristics of bio-coke and petroleum coke are overally considered.At first,sawdust?or enteromorpha?co-coking with vacuum residuum to prepare bio-base petroleum coke.After the hydrophilic improvement and ash removal,the materials are calcined in high temperature;the productions as bio-base carbon materials.In the investigation,HNO3 is the best hydrophilic agent.By the characterize of IR,XRD and BET,the influence of biomass's mount on the qualities of materials,such as surface functional groups,specific surface area,pore structure,are studied.In order to improve the specific surface area and enrich the pore structure of the bio-carbon material,the paper uses solid alkali as activating reagents to prepare bio-activated carbon with high specific surface areas.The influence of different experiment conditions,such as the ratio of alkali to carbon,temperature,time,on the pore structure of bio-activated carbon.Results show that the best conditions as fellow:choosing KOH as activating agent,the ratio of alkali to carbon is 3:1,activated 1h under 800 oC.Then the relationship between biomass's mount and structure of materials is studied.The samples,which have the maximum specific surface area,are MC1K3 with 2133.3 m2/g and HC4K3with 2351.6 m2/g.In the end,the application of bio-activated carbon on adsorption desulfurization of crude oil is investigated.The optimum conditions of desulfurization experiment are studied,and then the relationship of structure-function are researched.The sample,MC1K3 with the highest desulfurization rate of 22.6wt%,is modified by loading different transition metal to increase its desulfurization rate.The sample loaded with Ni has the highest desulfurization rate of 32.4wt%.At last,the mechanism of desulfurization is studied,the activsted carbons loaded with metal can bond with sulfide componds,such as thiophene,benzothiophene and their derivatives,to improve the desulfurization performance.
