The shot peened parts in the aerospace field can effectively improve the surface performance of the parts and increase the service life of the parts to reduce the occurrence of aviation accidents.However,the traditional shot peening method is affected by artificial factors,and the quality and efficiency of shot peening are very unstable.In order to meet the demand of the high efficiency and high quality in the aviation industry,intelligent and automated shot peening to replace artificial shot peening will become an inevitable trend in the future.Off-line programming technology plays an important role in the intelligentization and automation of shot peening equipment.Therefore,based on the features of numerical control shot peening equipment,an off-line programming and simulation system for shot peening equipment was developed.The off-line programming system could simulate the shot peening process and generate the shot peening equipment control code.Frist,the movement structure of the shot peening equipment was created and analyzed,the kinematic structure of the shot peening equipment was calculated,and the movement attitude and parameters of the shot peening equipment were determined by the calculation results,which provided a theoretical basis for subsequent off-line programming and simulation.Then,according to the requirements of shot peening process parameters and the principle of shot peening path,the proper path planning method could be selected to complete the planning and design of shot peening path,a program about shot peening algorithm by the CAA technology in secondary development of CATIA,the shot peening off-line programming simulation system was developed,and completed the development of the off-line programming path planning module in VC environment.The establishment of simulation environment for shot peening equipment according to the actual situation of shot peening equipment in the VERICUT,and the shot peening process was simulated.The correctness of NC program files was verified by the trajectory tracking and collision detection,and the error program was modified and optimized to ensure that the actual trajectory of nozzles was reasonable and true.Combined the developed off-line programming module with the constructed shot peening simulation environment to complete the path planning of parts surface and achieve the off-line programming and simulation function of shot peening.Finally,The shot peening test was performed on the actual parts through a shot peening offline programming and simulation system.The test result is shown that the shot trajectory generated by the shot peening off-line programming system in the actual shot peening process meets the shot peening process requirements,and it can improve the actual shot peening production efficiency and accuracy of the shot trajectory,which proved the software application in the shot peening equipment.
