Photorefractive effect refers to the beam passing through the nonlinear optical material,the material of light and none light at the interface region gathered charge to form a space charge field,space charge field and beam incident on the reaction,thus changing the beam propagation direction,presented in the screen above the flare produced aggregation or dispersion.There are many applications of photorefractive phenomena,such as holographic gratings and optical waveguides we know.In addition to the image restoration through phase conjugation distortion,two wave coupling can also enhance the weak image,self pumped and mutually pumped phase conjugate interferometer can be made into various special to improve measurement accuracy,two wave coupling or phase conjugation can realize optical interconnection and optical addressing etc..Photorefractive phenomena can also be used in optical information processing,optical communication and optical computing.So we have to study the photorefractive aspects of the work has a strong interest in,so we carried out two experiments: on the one hand,we see a single crystal of a class of organic drugs grown with photorefractive phenomenon is obvious,so we this thesis is focused on the crystal self defocusing phenomenon on the other hand;we observed this kind of organic drug configured solution with self defocusing phenomenon.Below I will study the content is divided into two aspects as follows:Organic small molecule material we used for 4,4'-Biphenol,4,4'-4-phenylphenol,phenol,p-hydroxydiphenyl,2-amino-4-phenylphenol,2-4'-hydroxy-4-biphenylcarbonitr ile,4'-4-amino phenyl phenol,cyano xenol,2-(4-hydroxypheny)-5-pyrimidinol,2-chloro-5-hydroxy pyrimidine these kinds of optical materials.We chose ethyl alcohol absolute anhydrous ethanol as chemical solvent.On the one hand we through the allocation of these drugs are nearly saturated and over saturated state solution,after grown in the solution after their single crystal optical sheet,optical structures for optical measurement,through the analysis to the phenomenon we get the following conclusions: 2-amino-4-phenyl phenol,phenol and 2-linked cyano-5-hydroxy chloride pyrimidine observed photorefractive phenomenon;however,4,4'-biphenyl phenol and 4-hydroxy-4 photorefractive phenomenon is not obvious.On the other hand we configured solutions of different concentrations,optical measurement in the solution state to build a good optical path,the phenomenon of experiments we found that 2-amino-4-phenyl phenol,phenol and 2-with cyano-5-hydroxy pyrimidine chloride to observe self defocusing phenomenon obviously;however,4,4'-and phenol to diphenyl hydroxybiphenyl self defocusing phenomenon is not obvious.The nonlinear optical phenomenon that occurs spontaneously when the medium is propagated by a strong laser is called self defocusing.Because of the uniformity of single crystal is very good,so we found this photorefractive phenomenon is very obvious new organic small molecule material has very good prospects.Through the summary and discussion,we believe that the basic structure of these molecules for drug discovery when hydroquinone,plug-in group in symmetric photorefractive or self defocusing phenomenon is not obvious,obvious or self defocusing photorefractive phenomenon is when the plug-in groups when non symmetry.In addition,we observe that the polarization state of the laser beam has no influence on the photorefractive or self defocusing phenomenon.In addition,we know that there is no correlation between the phenomenon of photorefractive or self defocusing and solvent.We analyzed more deeply research on samples,found that this type of organic crystal or solution to produce photorefractive or self defocusing phenomenon requires a certain amount of incident light intensity,that is to say to the photorefractive optical power density to a certain threshold,the threshold is about 10 W/cm.The greater the optical power density,the more obvious the phenomenon of photorefractive or self defocusing,which means that the intensity of the space charge field will change with the laser intensity.Because the uniformity of the single crystal is very good,we find that the new type of organic small molecule material which has a very good prospect is very obvious.
