Object Comparison of the efficacy of Adefovir therapy and Entecavir therapy on retreatment chronic hepatitis b patients for 5 years. Methods In the open-label study we randomly assigned the 206 retreatment CHB patients to Adefovir(ADV) treatment group (103 cases) and Entecavir(ETV) treatment group (103 cases).ALT,HBeAg and HBV-DNA were quantified at 0,1,2,3,4,5 years.Comparison of the changes of laboratory test to assess the difference of the treatment effect between the two groups. At the same time,To observe the safety in the process of taking medicine. Results At the year 5,compared with the two groups,in Entecavir group ALT recovery rate was higher(98% VS 66%),HBV-DNA level< 103copy/ml proportions was also higher(97% VS 75%),and all the difference were significant(P< 0.05).Among the HBeAg positive patients,in Entecavir group HBeAg negative rate was also higher than the other group(53% VS 48%),but The difference between the groups was not significant(P>0.05).Conclusion By using Entecavir and Adefovir in the treatment of chronic hepatitis b patients with retreatment, Entecavir group in biochemical and virological curative effect is superior to Adefovir group, Entecavir is an ideal antiviral treatment drugs for a long term to treat the retreatment chronic hepatitis b patients.
