Current Situation And Influential Factors On Family Members Of Patients' Emergency

BackgroundBecause of the special characteristics of the emergency patients,their relatives often have different levels of anxiety when the patients are in danger.Healthy care workers often have no time to take care of the relatives' anxiety because of the emergency.That will lead to the less support of the society and easy to cause unnecessary conflicts between the doctors and patients.Therefore,the relatives of the emergency care are an integral part of the work of nursing.ObjectivesLearn about the anxiety situation of family members of emergency patients in order to screen out the high risk groups of family members of emergency patients,and to explore the related factors affecting the family members of emergency patients,which can provide the basis for the family members of emergency patients with targeted psychological nursing.MethodsTo do the questionnaire,the family members of 1058 patients who met the inclusion criteria in the emergency department of a medical college were selected as the research objects.The contents of the survey are: ? Family members of patients with general information,including age,educational level,occupation,family economic conditions etc.;? Anxiety self rated volume table(SAS).Zung using SAS preparation of the Chinese version of the evaluation of subjective symptoms of anxiety.SAS scale contains 20 items,divided into 4 grades,and the total score is 80 points.The score less than 50 points means no anxiety,scores greater than 50 points means the existence of anxiety.Anxiety is divided into 3 different levels: scores in 50 to 59 points is mild anxiety;60 to 69 is moderate anxiety;more than 70 points and above means severe anxiety.The family members were evaluated 1 day after the admission to hospital.SPSS 16.0statistical software package was used for data processing and analysis for Evaluation data.Counting data using x2 test,multivariate analysis using a logistic regression model,the application of forward method based on the partial maximum likelihood estimation of the screening risk factors,P < 0.05 for differences have statistical significance.Results1.The current situation of anxiety of the family members of the emergency patients:For the collected 1058 families of emergency patients,anxious family members of patients with 758 people,accounting for 71.64% of all the family members,300 people have no anxiety,accounted for 28.36%.170 people have the mild anxiety,accounting for 22.43%of the total number of anxiety;336 people have moderate anxiety,accounting for 44.33%of the total number of anxiety;252 people have severe anxiety,accounting for 33.24% of the total number of anxiety.2.The influential factors of Emergency patients' family members' anxiety: according to the single factor's analysis,the influencing factors of emergency patients' families were mainly affected by the relationship between the relatives and the patients,payment types,patient's condition and the family members' cultural degree.The differences have statistical significance,P < 0.05.Family members of different occupations and household comparison,the differences have no statistical significance,P > 0.05.3.Multi factors analysis: Through the logistic regression analysis,main factors affecting the families of emergency patients' anxiety are: relationships with patients for the spouse and parents,patients pay categories at their own expense and the new rural cooperative medical system,the family culture degree is low,sicker patients,P < 0.05.Conclusions1.Emergency patients with 2/3 above the family members of patients appears anxiety symptoms.2.The main influence factors of anxiety symptoms of emergency patients' family members are: the relationship between the patients and their spouses and parents,patients pay for their own expenses and the new rural cooperative medical system,the family education level is low,and the patient's condition is more serious.
