| Research Background:Recently research work on Vitamin D has been advancing very rapidly,Vitamin D deficiency and cognitive impairment are common in elderly men and increase with as men age.The relationship between Vitamin D and Cognitive impairment has yet to be determined.Amnestic mild cognitive impairment is one of the most common types of mild cognitive impairment which is at an early stage of Alzheimers.This study,by a test of the level of serum25-(OH)D and Vitamin D in patients with mild cognitive impairment,and it preliminarily discusses the relationship between Vitamin D and Cognitive impairment.Objective:To study the changes of serum25-(OH)D and the related factors in patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment.Methods:The case-control association study was used.First,used Mo CA score <26points,then the MMSE score between 25 to 27 points,diagnosised of aMCI 50 cases,20 with severe AD and 50 cases without cognitive impairment Control group were selected.At the same time,collected the general clinical data(like age,sex,body mass index,length of education,past-medical history,the history of individual and familial diseases)were considered,methods Serum levels of 25-(OH)D were detected by CLIA method.Results:1.compared with the aMCI,AD and Control group show a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),the levels of 25-(OH)D are 24.54±2.92ng/ml、21.57±1.76ng/ml、27.08±2.24ng/ml.2.The results for the aMCI,severe AD,and the Control group with adequate 25-(OH)D are respectively,0/50、0/20、4/50,with inadequate 25(OH)D are 40/50、11/20、44/50.With deficient 25-(OH)D are 10/50、9/20、2/50.The aMCI,severe AD,and the control group with adequate 25-(OH)D were significantly lower than those with deficient 25-(OH)D,but severe AD with deficient 25-(OH)D was higher than aMCI,and there were significant differences.3.Spearman analysis shows that the patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment of the levels of 25-(OH)D is positively related with MMSE scores(R=0.058,P=0.000),but negatively related with age,body max index.(R=-0.606,P=0.002;R=-0.287,P=0.001),and also less related with length of education and gender.4.Logistic regression analysis shows that the cognitive impairment correlated with 25-(OH)D(correlation-0.889),and the length of education(correlation-0.368).Conclusion 1.There were positive correlations between the levels of 25-(OH)D and the severity of amnestic mild cognitive impairment.low levels of 25-(OH)D may the risk factors of amnestic mild cognitive impairment.2.The patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment of 25-(OH)D is positively related with MMSE scores,but negatively related with age,body max index.and also less related with length of education and gender. |
