Since the beginning of life on earth,human lived general to another with the rules of illness and death,while it promotes the progress of the whole society.In recent years,with the development of economic and social,the growing population of aging process,people’s way s of life,frequent changes of disease spectrum and chronic non communicable diseases,malignant tumor,heart disease,respiratory system disease gradually become the main cause s of pain and death among residents,tens of millions of people living with illness.The development of modern science and technology,makes human more and more arrogant,when humans due to disease or aging to life the end,to rely on sophisticated science and technology in the modern times accompanied by prolongs the suffering of life? Or to recognize the limited life and work hard in the moment ? Or to seek ways to hasten death?In 2002,the World Health Organization hospice redefined "hospice care" is a clinical disciplines,by early identification,positive assessment,controlling pain and other distressing symptoms treatment,including physical,social psychology and religion(heart trouble)to prevent and relieve the pain of body and mind,so as to improve facing life-threatening disease patients and their family’s quality of life.With the conversion of modern medical model as the new medical model "biological psychological social",the quality of life become the mainstream theory of modern life ethics,and the pursuit of quality of life become nowadays medical development trend.Our medical always stressed the importance of "eugenics",Chinese people focused too much on the "eugenics",but always ignore "death ".According to statistics,every year about 1.6 million Americans suffer from terminal disease,they and their families can receive hospice care,and in our country,about 500 million people died of disease or death every year,and in which people accept hospice care of less than 1%,which means that hospice care has gradually become a relationship to all the members of the society of the people’s livelihood and realistic problem,but also medical ethics hot issue.We have the largest population in the world,which means we also have the world’s most elderly and dying patients.Today,with our rapid economic development,the government has begun to pay attention to the problem of supporting the old,but for hospice care,it is still lacking.Based on the new concept of hospice care "four whole care" analysis,and investigations in Beijing,Shanghai,Dalian,hospice life care ward s of general hospital,the hospice,community health service center,we have found the present practice of China hospice ethical dilemmas so far.Including the fuzzy of hospice care concept,the imbalance of hospice care supply and demand in development,ignoring the needs of dying patients,in view of life and death on the cause of the development of hospice care,hospice care system which is not perfect,the lack of volunteer service,the lack of hospice care team,medical personnel lack ing of professional knowledge.Hospice care can make patients living in the last stage of life with dignity,value,and it is the respect for human life;it also facilitates more equitable allocation of limited public health resources;it can represent human nature and the degree of social civilization.The study of hospice care for the healthy life of our country has its theoretical and practical significance in the development of medical and health services.
