Clinical Research About Quantity And Effect Of Moxibustion Of Herb-partitioned Moxibustion On The Navel For Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Of Spleen Deficiency Type

Objective: To observe the link between quantity and effect of moxibustion, this study provides three groups of IBS-D volunteers for Herb-partitioned Moxibustion on the Navel, then gives them three different kinds of quantity of moxibustion to find out the optimum quantity of moxibution for IBS-D.Methods: We select 60 IBS-D patients and divide them into three groups named A、B、C,Each of which has 20 volunteers. We compare and analyse each group’s stomach physical signs and moxibustion sensation assessment scale to explore their differences.Results: First of all,after treatment each group’s the total scores of stomach physicalsigns such as were significantly different(P<0.05) from former.Secondly,after one week’s treatment,there are significant differences(P<0.05) between A group and C group in defecation frequency and stools,and differences(P<0.05) between B group and C group in stools.After the fourth treatment,the change of syptom of bowel move arises in A and B group(P<0.05).Thirdly, there are extremely differences(P<0.05) about the comfortable feeling of moxibustion between A and C group in the process of the first treatment and significantly differences(P<0.05) about total scores between A and C group after the fouth treatment.Conclusion: Herb-partitioned moxibustion on the navel can effectively ease the uncomfortable stomach symptoms of IBS-D. B group and C group are better than A group to improve physical signs scores and gives rise to moxibustion sensation and special moxibustion sensation.In the process of treatment, every volunteer has individual feeling, if one has moxibustion sensation, his stomach physical signs scores are also high.
