| Objective:(1). To evaluate the clinical application of surgical treatment of meningioma assisted by preoperative super-selective embolization;(2). To discuss the complications of embolism and their causes.Methods:1.Gather from the Neurosurgery Department of Shanxi Provincial People’s Hospital a total of 32 cases of patients who accepted the surgical treatment assisted by preoperative super-selective embolization and had meningioma as pathological returns from January 2013 to December 2015 as the treatment group, and 56 cases of patients who met both the inclusion criteria and the exclusion criteria for cases of meningioma and accepted surgical treatment alone as the control group, which were collected from January 2013 to December 2015 from the Neurosurgery Department of Shanxi Provincial People’s Hospital. Both groups adopted the same inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. And record the operation time, blood loss during the operation and total removal rate of these two groups of patients and compare these variables.Inclusion criteria :(1)patients who have pathological returns for meningioma;(3) patients with complete clinical data collection;(4) patients who do not suffer from other serious system diseases before surgery;(5) patients and their families coorperate with doctors. Exclusion criteria:(1)patients without adequate clinical information;(2) patients with other serious system diseases;(3)patients who are disabled due to other reasons before surgery;(4) patients with multiple intracranial meningiomas;(5) patients who have pathological returns for non-meningioma.2.Use the statistical software SPSS13.0 version to analyze the data collected, describing the measurement data as mean ± standard deviation, and using the number of cases and percentages to describe the classification index; then apply t-test for the comparison of the measurement data, and if the p value turns out to be smaller than 0.05,then the difference between the two sets if data would be statistically significant. Results :The average bleeding volume of the treatment group was 378.59 ml, and that of the control group was 495.36 ml. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.001), thus the blood loss of the treatment group was less than that of the control group; the mean operation time of the treatment group was 5.00 h, while that of the control group was 5.96 h. After embolism group, the average postoperative hospitalization time was 10.38 days. A simple surgical average hospitalization time of11.59 days, the contrast between the two has statistical significance(P = 0.009). After embolization, hospitalization time less than surgery alone group. Conclusion:Compared with the single surgical treatment of meningioma, super-selective embolization combined with surgical treatment of meningioma can shorten the operation time, reduce blood loss and improve the rate of total removal of tumor. |
