Objective: It has been 50 years since the application of laser to medical treatment and cosmetic therapy. A serial study of real time temperature measurement and control including the total area of lesions is needed under the clinical application of laser therapeutic techniques and methods. This study carries serial researches of temperature measurement and control by handy infrared imager, which is under current use in environmental science field. In order that the real-time temperatures of hotspots in thermodynamic graphs and curves are captured and the relations between parameters and complications during the process of different types of laser therapeutic techniques or methods are discovered. So as to the reference for the definition of safety treatment parameters in the field of laser cosmetic therapy. Methods: 1. Randomly choose and group clinical patients according to laser device and record the process of laser cosmetic therapy with infrared thermal imager. 2. Follow up posttherapy cutaneous reactions and make digital image records. 3. Temperature curves design and statistical analysis of data. Results: Utilized infrared thermal imager supervison system to collect data, statistical software to analyse. The analysis report displayed that correlativity existed between age or fluence and cutaneous temperature(p<0.05) on 595 nm pulsed dye laser; cutaneous temperatures in different gender groups exhibited significant difference(p<0.05) on both 595 nm pulsed dye laser and Q-switched 755 nm alexandrite laser. Conclusions: Infrared thermal imager temperature supervison system is easy to use and relatively accurate. The captured data is with great assistance to clinical work as well as the systematic treatment specifications of laser cosmetic therapy.
