Objective Many studies have confirmed Toric intraocular lens implantation and limbal relaxing incision correct corneal astigmatism during cataract surgery is effective and safe. In this study, quantitative analysis of the effect of the correction of astigmatism, summarize results of operations, and comparing other parameters such as corneal aberrations, corneal thickness.Methods 1.The study enrolled 79 cataract patients(80eyes)from Tianjin Medical University Eye Hospital.The preoperative corneal regular astigmatism ≥1D. 2.The patients had routine ophthalmic examination, including uncorrected visual acuity, best corrected visual acuity at postoperative one day,1 week, 1 month and 3 months.The patients had manifest refraction and Pentacam ○R(Germany,Oculus Corporation)topography examination. 3.The SPSS17.0 statistical software(United States, IBM Corporation)were used for statistical analysis. The independent samples t-test was used analysis the preoperative date. The repeated measures two-way ANOVA and multivariate analysis of variance was used to compare other date between two groups and the ANOVA LSD-t test was used to compare date within each group. The P value <0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results 1.The uncorrected visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity was improved, the difference was statistically significant(F=324.275, P=0.000; F=168.063, P=0.000). Group B was better than group A, the differences were statistically significant(F=15.263, P=0.000; F=13.061, P=0.001). 2.The spherical,cylinder and spherical equivalent were decreased, the difference was significant(F=59.054, P=0.000; F=114.545, P=0.000; F=78.200, P=0.000). The spherical and spherical equivalent was less in group B, the differences were significant(F=7.877, P=0.006; F=8.827, P=0.004).Compared cylinder between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant(F=3.058, P=0.075).3.The anterior corneal curvature FK1 and posterior corneal curvature BK1,BK2 were changed,but the difference was not statistically significant(F=1.306, P=0.275; F=5.826, P=0.008; F=26.790, P=0.000), while the FK2 changed, the difference was statistically significant(F=59.054, P=0.000).Comparison FK1, BK2 between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant(F=27.406, P=0.000; F=4.362, P=0.040), compared FK2,BK1 between the two groups,the difference was not statistically significant(F=3.428, P=0.068; F=0.544, P=0.463). 4.The apex corneal thickness and the thinnest corneal thickness varies with time, the difference was statistically significant(F=59.774, P=0.000; F=56.065, P=0.000). Comparison the corneal thickness between the two groups, the difference was not statistically significant(F=0.446, P=0.506; F=2.756, P=0.101). 5.The corneal aberrations changed, the difference was statistically significant(F=31.270, P=0.000).Comparison corneal aberrations between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant(F=10.633, P=0.002).Conclusions 1.Limbal relaxing incision combined with intraocular lens implantation and Toric intraocular lens implantation correct corneal regular astigmatism during cataract surgery were effective ways. Toric intraocular lens is better than limbal relaxing incision in correcting astigmatism,which has better accuracy and stability. 2.Limbal relaxing incision also can be completed before or after surgery alone, and it is a good safety and effectiveness way to correct astigmatism. 3.Limbal relaxing incision correct corneal astigmatism, the steep curvature rapid decline and the flat curvature increase in the early stage. 4.The central and peripheral corneal thickness increased in early stage and return to preoperative levels at postoperative one month. 5.The corneal aberrations increased in early stage.Toric intraocular lens implantation increased corneal aberrations can return to the preoperative level, but limbal relaxing incision increase corneal aberration at the stabilized stage.
