Atrophic Glossitis Cases Analysis In A Hospital Oral Mucosal Disease Department

Objective The purpose of this study is to know the cause of the atrophic glossitis from analyzing patients with general situation, clinical manifestations, laboratory examination and Mental health status in a hospital oral mucosal diseases department.Methods We used retrospective study to analyze 74 cases with atrophic glossitis in a hospital Mucosal diseases department from 2014 to 2016. The research content includes general situation(age,sex,national,whether with atrophic gastritis and ss),clinical manifestations(tongue burning pain,dry mouth,dry eye,loss of appetite,weakness of chills), laboratory examination(HGB, vitaminB12, folic acid, fungi) and Mental health status(good,general,poor,bad).use the SPSS17.0 to analyze the date and then concluded.Results1. Basic informationCollected 74 patients, which is 63 cases of women, accounted for 85.14%,average age is 60.81±12.893 years old; which is 11 cases of men, accounted for 14.86%, average age is 57.27±12.330 years old. The sex ratio is 5.73 :1.there are 42 cases occur in particular 50 to 70 years old.61 cases of han people, accounted for 82.43%;13 cases of hui people, accounted for 17.57%,and the ratio is 4.69 :1. 18 cases of patients with atrophic gastritis(24.32%)and 2 cases with ss(2.7%).2. Clinical manifestationstongue burning pain in 54 cases(72.97%),dry mouth in 50 cases(67.57%),dry eye in 37 cases(50.00%),loss of appetite in 29 cases(39.19%),weakness of chills in 38 cases(51.35%).3. Laboratory examinationHGB lowerd in 31 cases(41.89%),vitamin B12 lowerd in 28 cases(37.84%),folic acid lowerd in 9 cases(12.16%),folic acid increased in 18 cases(24.32%),33 cases of patients fungi test is positive(44.59%).4. K10 scale18 cases of patients with a good mental health status(24.32%);22 cases of patients with a general mental health status(29.73%);30 cases of patients with a poor mental health status(40.54%);4 cases of patients with a bad mental health status(5.40%).ConclusionThe most of patients with atrophic glossitis in A hospital oral mucosal diseases department were old people.the women proportion than male and the sex ratio is 5.73:1.Lack of HGB and vitamin B12, unusual folic acid,fungal infection can cause atrophic glossitis and psychological factors has a certain relationship with it.
