Objective:This study was attempted to verify feasibility of treating chloasma with acupuncture and moxibustion based on the principle of invigorating essence and removing blood Stasis combined with syndrome differentiation though theoretical research and observation of clinical cases; and further to provide a reference basis for replenishing clinical thought of treating chloasma with acupuncture and moxibustion. Methods:The first part is theoretical research. In order to collect information from 102 ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine (1100B.C-1949A.C) related to Chloasma, Ancient Books Database of Chinese Classics(mirror sites of Chengdu university of traditional Chinese medicine) is consulted. This study requires fifteen Chloasma patients meet a criterion. All of them should go through three course of treatment of acupuncture and moxibustion in five primary acupoints and some other matching acupoints. The former contain Shenshu (BL-23), Zhishi (BL-52), Gaohuang (BL-43), Geshu (BL-16), Danshu (BL-19), embodying the principle of invigorating essence and removing blood stasis. And the latter are selected in the principle of syndrome differentiation. Besides, score of chloasma and clinical systemic symptoms before and after treatment are recorded to assess therapeutic effects.Results:1. According to the common pathogenesis of deficiency of essence and blood stasis, there is a theoretical and clinical basis for treating Chloasma with acupuncture and moxibustion based on the principle of invigorating essence and removing blood stasis combined with syndrome differentiation.2. After three courses of treatment, fifteen Chloasma patients express relief of symptom to different degree. Analyzing the symptom score of chloasma lesion, the total effective rate is 60%. And analyzing the symptom score of systemic symptoms, the total effective rate is 93.33%.Conclusion:There is a theoretical and clinical basis for treating Chloasma with acupuncture and moxibustion based on the principle of invigorating essence and removing blood stasis combined with syndrome differentiation, which lays a foundation for further study. |
