| Objective : To study the expression of Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endproducts(RAGE)and Phosphorylated signal protein P-38(P-P38)in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and adjacent normal lung tissues. To investigate the correlation between the expressions of RAGE and P-P38 both in non-small cell lung cancer and normal lung tissues and the clinical and pathological characteristics of patients. To explore whether there is a correlation between the expression of RAGE and P-P38 in non-small cell lung cancer and the ones in adjacent normal lung tissue. To analyze and discuss the clinical role, mechanism and correlation between RAGE and P-P38 in the development and progression of non-small cell lung cancer. Methods: 47 cases of non-small cell lung cancer tissue samples receiving treatments from September 2014 to August 2015 in our hospital were selected as the experimental group.Meanwhile, the normal lung tissues of the patients with cancer adjacent to the edge of 5cm were selected as control group(n = 47).The expressions of RAGE protein and P-P38 protein both in cancer tissue and adjacent normal lung tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry En Vision two-step method. Moreover, the clinical and pathological data of 47 patients with non-small cell lung cancer were collected. We use SPSS18.0 statistical software to analyze the results. The expressions of both RAGE and P-P38 in cancer tissues and adjacent normal lung tissues were analyzed by χ2 test. The relationship between the level of RAGE and P-P38 in non-small cell lung cancer tissues and the clinical and pathological features of patients with non small cell lung cancer was analyzed by χ2 test or Fisher exact test. The correlative analysis of RAGE and P-P38 expression in cancer tissues and adjacent normal lung tissues were analyzed by Spearman correlation test.Results:1,RAGE protein mainly existed in the cell membrane and cytoplasm,P-P38 protein was distributed in the cytoplasm and nucleus, mainly in the nucleus. The expression rate of RAGE in non-small cell lung cancer was 63.46%,which was significantly lower than that in normal lung tissue(P <0.05).Meanwhile,the expression rate of P-P38 in non-small cell lung cancer was 55.77%,which was significantly higher than that in normal lung tissue(21.28%,P <0.05).2,The expression levels of RAGE and P-P38 in non-small cell lung cancer tissues were correlated with tumor size, lymph node metastasis, and TNM staging in non-small cell lung cancer(p<0.05).However,there was no statistical difference between age, smoking history, histological type and tissue differentiation.3,Correlation analysis showed that the expression of RAGE and P-P38 protein was negatively correlated(r =-0.368,P=0.011)in non-small cell lung cancer. Conclusion: The expression of RAGE protein in the non-small cell lung cancer tissues was lower than the normal tissues, and the expression of P-P38 protein in the non-small cell lung cancer tissues was higher than the normal tissues. The decrease of the expression of RAGE and the increase of the expression of P-P38 in non-small cell lung cancer indicated the later pathological stages. In non-small cell lung cancer,RAGE and P-P38 may be the biochemical indicators which were helpful for clinical judgment of tumor stage and guiding clinical treatment. |
