The Clinical Observation Of External Application Of Yulongsan In Treating Ankylosing Spondylitis

ObjectiveTo evaluate the curative effect and safety of external application of Yulongsan in treating ankylosing spondylitis(syndrome of kidney deficiency and Du meridian cold).MethodsTotally 60 ankylosing spondylitis(syndrome of kidney deficiency and Du meridian cold)patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group,and there are 30 cases each group.Patients in treatment group were treated by external application of Yulongsan and took Sulfasalazineenteric-coated tablet and meloxicam capsule,while those in the control group took Sulfasalazineenteric-coated tablet and meloxicam capsule,30 days as one therapeutic course.Following indexes were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy:ASAS20 standard,Chinese medical efficacy evaluation standards,BASDAI,BASFI,spinal pain index,PGA,thoracic expansion,the modified Schober test,C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate.The clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment,as well as the occurrence of adverse reactions were recorded in the study.ResultsDuring the study,one case in the treatment group aborted for dermato-allergic reaction,and no case in the control group got lost.After 30 days of treatment,in the treatment group ASAS20 standard rate was 93.10%,and the total effective rate of Chinese medical syndrome was 96.55%;in the control group ASAS20 standard rate was 70.00%,and the total effective rate of Chinese medical syndrome was 83.33%.Compared with the control group,the treatment group could improve the clinical efficacy(P<0.05),furthermore,could reduce patients’ integrals of Chinese medical syndrome,BASDAI,BASFI,spinal pain index,and PGA(all had statistical significant P<0.05).Both groups could reduce ESR,CRP and improve thoracic expansion and the modified Schober test,while the difference was statistically insignificant(P>0.05).ConclusionsExternal application of Yulongsan got confirmable clinical effects in treating ankylosing spondylitis(syndrome of kidney deficiency and Du meridian cold),providing evidence of reliefing patients’ clinical symptoms reducing patients’ integrals of Chinese medical syndrome and improving patients’activity function,having no obvious side reaction.It can be a safe,effective assistant treatment for the patients with ankylosing spondylitis(syndrome of kidney deficiency and Du meridian cold).
