ObjectiveInvestigate and analyse the alexithymia characteristic, social support and quality of life in liver transplantation recipients. To study of the relationships between alexithymia characteristic in liver transplantation recipients and physical activity, psychological state, social relationships, environment evaluation, social support. To provide a relevant theoretical basis for a comprehensive understanding of liver transplantation recipients. To provide a more effective psychological intervention for proving quality of recipients' life.MethodsTake a cross-sectional study and questionnaire survey method. The sampling method is convenient sampling.Liver transplantation outpatients which selected in a comprehensive hospital in Guangzhou, were investigated. After receiving the patients' informed consent,108 eligible liver transplant recipients were investigated with the twenty-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale(TAS-20),the World Health Organization Quality of life-bref(WHOQOL-BREF)and the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),collecting questionnaires on the spot. All the data were analyzed by SPSS21.0 statistical software. The statistical methods included descriptive statistics, independent sample t test,Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis.Results1.Among the four dimensions of WHOQOL-BREF,the scores of the domains of psychological health, social relationships and environment were higher than national norms(P<0.01),the score of physical health was lower than national norms(P<0.01);The gender(P=0.047),living conditions(P=0.000),the monthly income(P=0.046),the postoperative time(P=0.006)had significantly positive effect on the quality of life;the monthly drug expenditure(P=0.015),the number of primary disease(P=0.021)had a significant negative effect on quality of life.2.The mean score of TAS-20 in liver transplantation recipients was(52.37±1.28);gender(t=-1.665,P=0.099),education(t=-2.194,P=0.031),marriage(t=-2.613,P=0.010),postoperative time(t=-2.891,P=0.005)had significant negative effect on alexithymia.3.The total score of social support of liver transplantation recipients were lower than national norms(P<0.01),among the three dimensions of social support, the score of subjective support was higher than national norms(P<0.01),the scores of objective support and utilization of support were lower than national norms(P<0.01);gender(P=0.028)and living conditions(P=0.012)had significant positive effect on the social support;age(P=0.000),education(P=0.030),marriage(P=0.000),rejection(P=0.020),and the monthly drug expenditure(P=0.077)had significant negative effect on social support.4.There was a significant difference in the comparison of WHOQOL-BREF scores of TAS-20 high score group and low group(P=0.000);the factor ?"difficult in identify feelings"(t=-2.835,P=0.006)and the factor ?"difficult in describe feelings"(t=-1.865,P=0.065)were significant negative correlated with total score of WHOQOL-BREF;the factor ? "external oriented thinking" was not significant.5.The factor ? "difficult in identify feelings" was negative correlated with the domains of physical health(r=-0.427,P<0.01),psychological health(r=-0.461,P<0.01),social relationships(r=-0.241,P<0.05),environment(r=-0.262,P<0.01);the factor ? "difficult in describe feelings" was negative correlated with the domains of physical health(r=-0.377,P<0.01),psychological health(r=-0.396,P<0.01),social relationships(r=-0.242,P<0.05);the factor ? "external oriented thinking" was negative correlated with the domains of psychological health(r=-0.204,P<0.05).6.There was a significant positive correlation between the total score of social support and the total score of quality of life in liver transplant recipients(t=3.564,P=0.001),and subjective support contributed most to the positive impact of on quality of life(t=2.415,P=0.018).7.The "objective support" in SSRS was positive related to the field of social relations in WHOQOL-BREF(r=0.255,P<0.01),"Utilization degree of support" was positive related to the field of psychology(r=0.245,P<0.05)and social relationship(r=0.205,P<0.05),"Single item with low item" was negative related to the field of physiology(r=-0.214,P<0.05),psychology(r=-0.259,P<0.01)and social relationship(r=-0.059,P<0.01).8.There was no significant correlation between TAS-20 total score and SSRS score in liver transplant recipients.Factor ? "external oriented thinking" was significant positive correlated with SSRS scores(t=2.074,P=0.041);Factor?"difficult in describe feelings" had a significant negative impact on "Utilization degree of support"(t=-2.457,P=0.016);Factor ? "Outward Thinking" had a significant positive impact on "subjective support"(t=3.677,P=0.000);The influence of TAS-20 on "objective support" was not significant.Conclusion1.The level of alexithymia of liver transplantation recipientsis is not high. It' s in the critical state.2.The level of social support and quality of life of liver transplantation recipients are lower than those of the general population.3.The total score of TAS-20 is negative correlated with the quality of life, and the total score of SSRS has a significant positive effect on the quality of life. There is a significant correlation between the three groups.4.Demographic data and disease status of liver transplantation recipients have different effects on alexithymia, social support and quality of life.
