ObjectiveComparing the effects of different frequencies of abdominal tuina on the morphology of gastrointestinal mucosa in rabbits with spleen deficiency by use of experimental study on the animal model,to investigate the dose-effect relationship of the frequencies of abdominal tuina and reinforcing or reducing effects.It can also explore the best effective,invalid or even damage frequency segment of abdominal tuina for spleen deficiency.Thus,it can promote the quantification,standardisation and normalization of abdominal tuina,which benifits clinical medicine.MethodsThis study includes a total of 48 rabbits.Select 8 of them randomly by sexuality as group K(blank control group)after one week of feeding.The rest 40 rabbits will step into modeling stage.Then devide them randomly into 5 groups by sexuality as treatment group A、B、C、D and model control group K.Record the weights and the amount of food-intake of each group.Compare and analyze them to verify if the modeling is succeeded.Then apply abdominal tuina on the rabbits’ zhongwan and tianshu acupoint at frequency of 50-110 Hz/min,101-150 Hz/min,151-200 Hz/min,and 201-250Hz/min for group A,B,C and D,except for group K and P.Afterwards,put all the rabbits into death after 24 hours’ fasting.Make specimens of their gastrointestinal mucosa and observe the changes under the light microscope.Summarize which frequency of abdominal tuina is best for the gastrointestinal mucosa according to the statistical results of the morphological scores to investigate the dose-effect relationship of the frequencies of abdominal tuina and reinforcing or reducing effects.Results1.The results of the general situation:there is no significant difference between the weight and the food-intake of the six groups before the model is made.Also there is no significant difference between group A,B,C,D and P,while they are all significantly lower than group K.2.The results of gastrointestinal mucosal morphology score:group K and A of gastric mucosa are signifacantly lower than group P;group K and B of gastroduodenal mucosa are signifacantly lower than group P;group C of ileum mucosa is signifacantly lower than group P;group K of jejunal and colonic mucosa are signifacantly lower than group P.Conclusion1.Making rabbit model of spleen deficiency by the method of diarrhea of bitter and cold is feasible.It will damage rabbits’ gastric,gastroduodenal,jejunal and colonic mucosa.While the ileum mucosa is rarely effected,2.Three frequency segments are effective.50-100 Hz/min can protect the stomach.101-150 Hz/min can improve duodenum.And 151-200 Hz/min can promote ileum.
