Clinical Research On Therapy Of Children With Cerebral Palsy Combined Language Disorders By Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture

BackgroundCerebral palsy(CP)with language disorders is children diagnosed as cerebral palsy have language understanding,expression and communication problems at the same time,in short,accompanied by language or speech disorders.According to The Cerebral Palsy Medical Guidelines,the morbidity rate of CP is about 2-3.5‰,and main symptoms is dyskinesia,with or without the language,intelligence,visual or auditory defect etc.As a common barrier of children with CP,the morbidity rate of language disorders is about 70-75%.The disorders interfere with normal process of language understanding,expression and communication,and affect development of interpersonal communication and social psychology,and also affect children’s learning ability and exacerbate movements or mental retardation,and reduce the life quality.While modern medical therapy relies on language training and cognition education,domestic treatment,on the basis of language training,increase the Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy such as scale acupuncture,acupoint injection and massage therapy,and the curative effect is good.According to abundant clinical experience of Prof.Zhen-huan Liu,we find that Tongdu Xingnao acupuncture,combination of scale acupuncture and Xingnao acupuncture by Prof.Xue-min Shi,has significant effect.The study aims to explore Tongdu Xingnao acupuncture clinical value in treating language disorders of CP.ObjectiveThis study was a randomized controlled trial to observe the effects of Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture manipulation in treating language disorders with CP children.,We compared the effects of Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture and the regular scale acupuncture to explore better treatment methods,research curative effect of Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture and provide feasible way for patient adjusting to society and improving their quality of life.MethodsThrough randomized controlled method trials,80 cases of 2-6 years old children with CP in hospital and clinic in The affiliated Nanhai maternity and children’s Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicinewere divided into two group A and group B,each group 40 cases.Finally,71 cases were available,group A of 35 cases,group B of 36 cases.On the basic language training and other necessary movement,cognitive rehabilitation training,The group A added Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture manipulation,the group B conduct the scale acupuncture manipulation.language training and other necessary training:once a day,20 times of treatment is a small period of treatment.Tongdu Xingnao Acupuncture and The scale acupuncture:once every other day,10 times of treatment is a small period of treatment.So a small period is 20 days,resting for 15 days and continue to next small period and a big period includes 3 small period,resting for 2 months and continue to next big period.A complete treatment course includes two big period and the whole time is 10-months.Begin and after the treatment,we should conduct these checks for evaluation of language disorders and behavior of movement and cognitive,such as S-S test and Dysarthria test of China Rehabilitation Research Center and Beijing Gesell developmental scale.All data would be analyzed by the SPSS20.0.Results1.Before the trial,two group basic data(such as gender,parents’level of education,different age groups,age),state of illnesss data(such as course of disease,Gross Motor Function Classification,types of cerebral palsy,types of language disorders,cores of five area in Gesell scale),and language development level,including language development level of different types of language disorders and age groups in the two groups,were compared.The results showed the all they had no statistical significance(P>0.05).2.After the trial,the two groups score of social adaptation DQ,language DQ,personal adaption DQ of Gesell scale had statistical significance(P<0.05)and the group A score was improved obviously.The gross motor DQ,fine motor DQ had no statistical significance(P>0.05).After the trial,the two groups score of the language DQ difference and personal adaption DQ difference pretherapy and post-treatment had statistical significance(P<0.05)and the group A score was improved obviously.The social adaption,gross motor,fine motor DQ difference had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The comparison of each group before and after treatment on the score of Gesell scale(social adaptation DQ,gross motor DQ,fine motor DQ,language DQ,personal adaption DQ)all had statistical significance(P<0.05).3.After the trial,the two groups curative effect and total effective rate had statistical significance(P<0.05)and the group A was better obviously.After the trial,the two groups curative effect and total effective rate of children combined with Dysarthria had statistical significance(P<0.05)and the group A was better obviously.After the trial,the two groups curative effect of 2-3 years old had statistical significance(P<0.05)and the group A was better obviously,while the two groups total effective rate had no statistical significance(P>0.05).The two groups curative effect and total effective rate both had no statistical significance(P>0.05).ConclusionIn a word,Tongdu Xingnao acupuncture has the very good effect on treating language disorders of children with cerebral palsy.(1)Compared with The scale acupuncture,Tongdu Xingnao acupuncture has better curative effect in improving language level,especially when CP children combined with Dysarthria.(2)Tongdu Xingnao has obvious effects in improving intelligence and personal-adaption ability and the improvement of personal-adaption ability is better than The scale acupunture.(3)Compared with The scale acupuncture,Tongdu Xingnao acupuncture has better effects in treating 2-3 years old children but total effective rate has no difference.As for 3-6 years old children,two therapy has no difference.The findings may be related to recovery rate of different age and we also need to continue to study in depth.
