| ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to evaluate the utility of Intravoxel Incoherent Motion Diffusion Weighted Imaging(IVIM-DWI)related parameters(pure diffusion coefficient,slow ADC or D;perfusion fraction,f,pseudodiffusion coefficient,fast ADC or D*)in the benign meningiomas and provide theoretical basis for the choice of clinical treatments and the promotion of IVIM-DWI in brain tumours.Methods20 consecutive patients with the benign meningiomas diagnosed by biopsy during February 2016 to January 2017,all of them had not received any therapy in our hospital(General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command).They were examined using 3.OT MR system in the pretherapy.The scanning protocol included the conventional MRI sequences and IVIM_MRI sequences and contrast-enhanced MR I sequences scanning.Intravoxel Incoherent Motion Diffusion-weighted imaging was performed with 16 different b value(range from 0 to 900s/mm2).Respectively record IVIM-DWI related parameters(pure diffusion coefficient,slow ADC or D;perfusion fraction,f,pseudodiffusion coefficient,fast ADC or D*)in 20 benign meningiomas parenchymal area and the contralateral normal brain white matter with the classic double exponential model,finally calculated ADC separately with the single exponential model,paired t test to compare meningiomas patients and normal white matter of ADC,D,f,D*value.Then analysed all data by SPSS20.0 statistical software(P<0.05).Results1.In the single exponential model,twenty patients with benign meningiomas of tumor parenchymal area ADC value is lower than contralateral normal brain white matter area ADC values,but they have no statistically significance(t=-0.5037,P>0.05).2.In the double exponential model,twenty patients with benign meningiomas of tumor parenchymal area slow ADC value is higher than contralateral normal brain white matter area slow ADC,and they have a statistically significance(t=3.0027,P<0.05).3.In the double exponential model,twenty patients with benign meningiomas of tumor parenchymal area fast ADC value is higher than contralateral normal brain white matter area fast ADC,but they have no statistically significance(t=1.2863,P>0.05).4.In the double exponential model,compared with the contralateral normal brain white matter area slow ADC,twenty patients with benign meningiomas of tumor parenchymal area f value is higher,but they have no statistically significance(t=-0.2221,P>0.05).ConclusionAs a new type of cerebral perfusion technique,IVIM-MRI is a more reliable technique for benign meningiomas than traditional DWI-MRI.IVIM imaging D value can accurately describe the tumor diffusion in benign meningiomas,which is helpful to expand clinical application. |
