| ObjectiveAtrial fibrillation(AF)is the most common sustained arrhythmia seen in clinical paratice. The incidence of atrial fibrillation in the general population is about 1%-2%.The older you get,the higher the incidence of atrial fibrillation. The incidence of people aged 80 and above is as high as 8%in some studies.Whats’s more, atrial fibrillation can cause many serious complications.Radiofrequency ablation can completely cure the disease. And cryoablation(CB)is a new method for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF).CB ablation displays similar clinical efficacy compared with RF ablation[1].In the last few years the second-generation cryoballoon has emerged in clinical practice, and it can improves the cooling efficiency. This article wil discuss the early recurrence rate and the influencing factors after the second generation CB.MethodsThis is a single center study.Fifty-five patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation after cryoballoon ablation were enrolled. All patients underwent this procedure with the 28mm Cryoballon Advance.Results4 patients were lost to follow-up.All 204 veins were successfully isolated.6 patients were recurrence and the early recurrence rate was 11.8%.The numerical value of NT-proBNP before the procedure was significantly differed between the early recurrence group and sinus rhythm group.ConclusionsThe proportion of early recurrence was comparable after RF and 2nd-generation CB ablation.NT-proBNP is a influencing factors of the early recurrence after the second generation CB. |
