This work mainly focus on the electro-neurophysiological basis of the amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(ALFF)in resting state BOLD signal. We simultaneously recorded the signal from multi-site local field potential(LFP)and functional magnetic resonance imaging from rat striatum and manipulated the striatal activity by injecting the AMPA into the ventral tegmental area. Our results demonstrated that the ALFF of BOLD signal in striatum shares the correlated changing trend with the amplitude of LFP signal. We selected the tip electrode with the surrounded voxels as ROl to investigate the correlation between the two different kinds of signal, and we found that the ALFF of BOLD signal shows significant correlation with the gamma band LFP under drug modulation. It may reflect that the ALFF of BOLD signal are strongly coupled with the gamma band electro-activity after given stimuli. Then,we examined the significantly manipulated area as a pair of bilateral ROIs and it shows that the theta band and alpha band negatively correlated with ALFF of BOLD,while it gets reversed in gamma band. This correlation can be found both ipsilateral and contralateral. These results suggested that amplitude of different LFP band may affect the BOLD signal distinctively, and it may reflect some profiles of the BOLD signal’s ALFF correlates.
