Effects Of Cordyceps Sinensis On Renal Atherosclerosis In Rats With Slow Renal Failure

Objective: To observe the effect of Cordyceps Baoshen Granule on chronic renal failure rats renal function index,blood lipid levels,carotid intima-media thickness(IMT)effect,and to discuss the possibility by improving renal function,regulate blood lipid,improve atherosclerosis,rat aging,the occurrence and development of prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications,improve the quality of life.Methods: 78 male SD rats weighing,were randomly divided into control group 26,model group 26,26 Cordyceps Baoshen granule group,the three groups were given normal diet,model group and CS group using 5/6 nephrectomy to produce CRF model.After administration,the rats in each group were given intragastric administration once a day for 12 weeks,and the control group and the model group were given the same amount of distilled water.Respectively at 0,4,8 and 12 weeks were measured 24 hours urine protein,serum creatinine(Scr),urea nitrogen(BUN),cholesterol(CHOL),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein(LDL-C)and homocysteine(HCy)level,the same time sampling in control group,model group and Cordyceps Baoshen granule group 6 rats of each group were sacrificed,and renal tissue,HE staining was used to observe the carotid artery,the pathological changes of plaque,using image processing and computer image analysis system to measure vascular intima-media thickness(IMT).Results: 1 Cordyceps Baoshen granule could keep the renal 5/6 reduce serum Scr,BUN level and the level of proteinuria resection,there are obvious differences compared with the model group(P < 0.01);2 Cordyceps Baoshen granule can promote 5/6 kidney decreased rat serum CHOL,TG,LDL-C and Hcy resection,had significant difference compared with the model group(P < 0.01);3 After the treatment,5/6 nephrectomy rat carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT)of carotid artery intima tissue loss,plaque formation slowed down.Conclusion: 1 Cordyceps sinensis can improve the general state of 5/6 nephrectomy rats,improve the quality of life,delay the progression of the disease;2 Cordyceps granule can promote 5/6 nephrectomy rats serum Scr,BUN levels,reduce proteinuria,improve renal function,slow disease progression;3 Cordyceps granule can promote the level of serum CHOL,TG,LDL-C and Hcy in the rats with 5/6 nephrectomy,and improve the state of high lipid and hypercoagulability in the later stage of renal failure;4 Cordyceps granule can reduce the volume of IMT and atherosclerotic plaque of carotid artery in 5/6 nephrectomy rats,improve the compliance and stiffness,and reduce the degree of atherosclerosis.
