| Object:To explre the safety and effects of trans-upper rectal artery chemoembolization in patients of rectal cancer combined with liver metastases simultaneously.Method:Patients with hepatic metastases of rectal cancer underwent trans-upper rectal artery chemoembolization after trans-hepatic arterial chemoembolization.5-Fu and oxaliplatin were infused into arteriae hepatica propria via RH or Cobra microcatheter celiac arteriogram,and then the irinotecan and Lipiodol emulsified embolization agents were infused into left or right branch of proper hepatic artery by using microca-theter or not.5-Fu and oxaliplatin were infused into the upper rectal artery via 3F microcatheter,and the irinotecan and Lipiodol emulsified embolization agents were infused.Result:17 patients were treated successfully.The discharge of necrotic material from the anus was significantly increased from 2 to 7 days after their operation.The abdominal pain disappeared after 3 days in 2 patients,and 1 case in 5 days disappeared.The anal pain disappeared in 5 cases within a week,and significant improvement in 2 cases.The tenesmus synonyms were significant improvement in 7 patients in a week,and 4patients had no effects.There were no complications of intestinal perforation,local infection after long-term follow-up.Conclusion:The therapy of trans-upper rectal artery chemoembolization was safe and effective methods in patients of rectal cancer combined with liver metastases.Owing to rapid rectal tumor necrosis,it could improve obstruction symptoms in patients,which would be an important method of the comprehensive treatment of rectal cancer. |
