[Objective]:To analyze the structural changes of whole brain gray matter and white matter in first-onset major depressive disorder(MDD)by voxel-based morphometry(VBM),to analyze the structural changes of whole brain, and discuss the pathophysiological mechanism of brain structural changes in MDD.[Methods]:Object of study:Totally include 27cases in line with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders, the first Ⅳ version diagnostic criteria for major depression disorder and 30 age-and gender-matched healthy people.Used the America GE 1.5T superconducting MRI scanner and phase front head circle for regular whole brain scan,three-dimensional brain structure scans and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(RS-fMRI)scan.Analytical methods:Voxel-based morphometry methods were tested against the two sets of the image of gray matter volume of the brain structure by MRI,difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).[Results]:(1)The sex age and average years of education of two groups were no significant difference.(2)VBM analysis:compared to healthy control group,MDD group showed significantly decreasd in grey matter volume of right superior/middle/inferior temporal gyrus difference was statistically significant(P<0.001);compared to healthy control group,MDD group showed significantly increasd in grey matter volume of left superior frontal gyrus、left middle frontal gyrus、left inferior frontal gyrus、left anterior cingulate、right inferior frontal gyrus difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).[Conclusion]:Major depression in patients with cerebral gray matter volume changes related to exist the limbic system-pallidum-the thalamus cortex-the striatum loop of brain structure abnormalities in multiple regions,Many abnormal brain structure and the links between brain areas, may be the pathogenesis key of depression.
