| Since ancient time people have known that restricting or reducing the food intake appropriately has positive effect for health and for life span extension..During the one hundred years research history,whether it is the reduce of the total food intake,or reduce of protein intake,or reduce of calorie intake,produced the healthy and life span extension effect is not clear.In the middle of last century,McCay and colleagues use the method to only reduce food intake but not reduce protein,for that they increased the protein concentration of the restricted food,extended rats’ life span,too.Thereafter,the concept of calorie restriction(CR)almost totally represented any kinds of food restriction or dietary restriction(DR).Not very later from that time,in the middle of 1970’ some researchers began found that without restricting animal’s food,only reduce one essential amino acid,such as tryptophan or methionine,in the food can also extend animal’s life span.At the same time,people also found that without restricting animal’s food intake,only decrease protein content from about 20% to 4% in the food,can also significantly extend animal’s life span..We found that in the century of research,several research groups have showed that reduced ratio of protein to carbohydrate in the food,even without restricting food intake can also extend animal’s life span.In order to verify whether the ratio of carbohydrate to protein in dietary affect the health and life span of the animals and how it affects their health,we use the Tenebrio molitor which is directly fed on plant ingredients,and then design food with variable ratio of protein to carbohydrate to feeding Tenebrio molitor.We have proved that food with variable ratio of the protein to carbohydrate do affect the growth of Tenebrio molitor and significantly changed some of their physiological and biochemical indicators.Non-protein sweet potato starch,low proportion of protein kumara power and ordinary content protein content of corn meal as a basic food ingredients,the food were added 2% or 20% of animal protein or plant protein.We compare the growth of Tenebrio molitor,weight gain and amylase activity and cellulase activity of the digestive tract.We concluded that high protein content of food to promote rapid growth of Tenebrio molitor,rapid aging.In low protein food,Tenebrio molitorgrowth slower,aging slower;animal protein than plant protein can promote faster growth and aging.Our experimental results show our results filled the gaps in certain biological indicators,and physiological and biochemical indicators in the field of similar invertebrate experimental research,and our model animal avoids some troublesome problems from those of yeast,elegans and fruit fly which are much less ideal for these experiments.In addition,we also observed the microstructure of Tenebrio molitor’s digestive tract in our experiment. |
