| In recent years, with the increasingly aging trend of the population, the rapid development of social economy and the transition of modern lifestyle, the incidence of cerebrovascular diseases has increased year by year.Among the cerebrovascular diseases, cerebral infarction receives the most attention for its high morbidity and mortality, which not only brings great economic burden to state and society, but also impair patients’ cognition, and thus leads to low life quality and heavy stress on patients and their families.Because of the complicate anatomy structure and functional division of the brain, different infarct sites have different effects on cognition.A wide range of cognitive domain such as attention, working memory and executive ability are damaged after frontal lobe infarction.Temporal lobe infarction does harm to one’s learning, memory and naming ability.Parietal lobe mainly plays a role in spatial cognition, episodic memory, calculation and ability to use.Cognitive impairment after occipital lobe infarction is mainly associated with impaired visual function.Thalamic and basal ganglia infarction also have their characters on cognition. Therefore,in order to better evaluate the cognitive impairment of patients with cerebral infarction and adopt effective measures,it’s of significant importance to explore different cognitive damage characteristics of different infarct sites. |
