Advances In Clinical Research On Acupuncture And Moxibustion Treatment Of Vascular Dementia In The Past Ten Years

Objective: Through the bibliometrics of clinical research on vascular dementia(VD)in the past 10 years,the clinical research of acupuncture treatment of VD was made from the aspects of periodical distribution,research methods,selection of acupuncture and acupoints to provide reference for clinical treatment.Methods: The acupuncture and moxibustion therapy of vascular dementia related articles from 2007 to 2016 were collected using keyword search from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and the Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform in accordance with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria.These literatures are quantitatively analyzed by bibliometrics.Results: A total of 75 articles were collected and 59 were screened.From the perspective of year and periodicals,the number of literature decreased in the past four years.From the research method,51 articles used control study,35 articles described the random method,3 articles applied of the three principle of separation,1 article applied placebo-controlled.The sample content within 100 cases of literature are more,no more than 500 cases of large sample documents.From the simple method of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy,the higher frequency are body acupuncture and scalp therapies,respectively 9 and 5.From the comprehensive therapy,more than three kinds of comprehensive therapy with the highest frequency is 11.From the application of acupoints,acupoints selection are Du meridian points.Conclusion: Acupuncture treatment of VD has high efficiency,which can effectively improve the VD patients’ cognition and daily living ability.Methods of more use are body acupuncture and scalp.However,due to theprevalence of small sample size,clinical design,acupuncture methods and other standards are not unified and other issues,the future of clinical research acupuncture should increase the sample size,improve scientific research design,standard acupuncture method to assess acupuncture therapy on the treatment of VD more objectively.
