| Objective To identify the diagnosis value of serum level of Total Prostate Specific Antigen(TPSA)in breast diseases, and the value in different molecular subtypes in breast cancer women. Methods Blood sample of 73 women with newly confirmed breast cancer were prospectively analyzed for serum level of TPSA,as well as Carcino Embryonie Antigen(CEA),Carbohydrate Antigen 153(CA153)before surgery, with a control group of 78 women with breast benign disease, and 22 women recognized breast tumor metastasis by imageological or pathological examination. Results The serum levels of TPSA,CEA,CA153 were significantly higher in women with breast cancer than women with breast benign disease(p=0.001).Both serum CEA and CA153 showed a significant increase in women with cancer metastasis when compared with breast benign disease, and CEA level also showed a meaningful increase in breast cancer metastasis compared with breast cancer. Moreover,The TPSA level was significantly associated with menstruation status in breast cancer women(p=0.030),whereas no significant association was found between TPSA level with four molecular subtypes(luminal A type, luminal B type,triple-negative breast cancer, and HER2 type). Conclusion This study indicated a clinical significance of measurement of TPSA levels in diagnosis of breast cancer, and TPSA may be a useful serological marker, which may be used as indicators of cancer recurrence in the future. |
