Objective:To explore the relationship between 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D],vitamin D binding protein(VDBP)and gastric cancer by detecting the levels of serum 25(OH)D and VDBP in patients with gastric cancer, and provide a new idea for the pathogenesis and treatment of gastric cancer.Methods:61 gastric cancer patients in Shanxi Provincial Cancer Hospital from July 2016 to October were admitted into the case group. All cases were newly diagnosed by pathology and had not other combined tumor.Meanwhile they didn’t receive radiochemotherapy. In the control group,42 patients with chronic superficial gastritis were confirmed by endoscopy and pathological biopsy in the same period. All subjects didn’t take vitamin D and calcium tablets in the past six months. All fasting peripheral venous bloods were taken in the morning and stored at-70℃ ultra-low temperature refrigerator after centrifugation. At the same time, the data such as serial number, age, gender, pathological results and other general information of the cases were recorded. The levels of serum 25-(OH)D,VDBP were measured by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Analyze the changes of 25-(OH)D and VDBP levels in both groups.Results:1.There was no significant difference in serum VDBP level between the case group and the control group(t=-1.281,P=0.203).2.The level of serum 25-(OH)D in the patients with gastric cancer was significantly lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(t=9.369,P<0.001).3.The level of serum 25-(OH)D was unrelated to sex, age, position, depth of infiltration, lymph node metastases, distant metastases and differentiation respectively(P>0.05).4.The level of serum 25-(OH)D in the case group was correlated with VDBP level(r=0.319,P=0.012),so was it in the control group(r=0.603,P=0.000).Conclusion:1.There was no significant difference in serum VDBP level between the case group and the control group(P>0.05).2.The level of serum 25-(OH)D in the patients with gastric cancer was significantly lower than that in the control group. It suggested that 25-(OH)D may be a protective factor in the development and progression of gastric cancer.3.The concentration of serum 25-(OH)D increased with the increase of serum VDBP level in both case group and control group.4.25-(OH)D was closely related to gastric cancer and can provide a new idea for the pathogenesis and treatment of gastric cancer.
