Objective:Using the method of meta-analysis to estimate the effect of removing filling materials,in order to provide guidance for the choose of equipment in clinical application.Methods:Searching the random controlled trials revelant to root cannal retreatment with the methods of computer retrieval and manual retrieval,inspiring assortment,extraction of data,evaluation of documents’ quality,1.Literature search Searching the literature revelant to root cannal retreatment with the methods of computer retrieval(7 database)and manual retrieval.The time interval is set to range from the moment of database foundation to March,2017.2.Documents selection Select documents according to the PICOS,the reject criteria and the quality evaluation standard manual3.Data analysis RevMan 5.3 was used to dispose the relevant research.Results:Finally,six articles were found to accorded with the inclusive criteria,involving294 experimental teeth,stainless steel hand instruments group N=147,Protaper Universal Retreatment group N=147.The outcome showed that,comparing with the stainless ste el hand instruments,Protaper Universal Retreatment,may reduce the residual filling m aterial in straight root canals[SMD=0.36,95%CI(0.01,0.72),P=0.04],which has statistically significant difference.Comparing with Protaper Universal Retreatment,the stainles s steel hand instruments may reduce the residual filling material in curved root canal s[SMD=-1.28,95%CI(-1.77,-0.78),P<0.00001],which has statistically significant differe nce.Comparing with the stainless steel hand instruments,Protaper Universal Retreatm ent may reduce the operation time,Whether you use chlorofor-m[SMD=-1.62,95%CI(-2.12,-1.12),P<0.00001] or not[SMD=-3.11,95%CI(-3.84,-2.39),P<0.00001],whic h has statistically significant difference.Due to the inclusion of heterogeneity,the am ount of apically extruded material won’t do meta analysis.Conclusion:1.PTUR may reduce the time required compared with the stainless steel hand instruments.2.In the curved root canals,stainless steel hand instruments has more advantages in the removal of root canal filling material.3.In the straight root canals,PTUR has more advantages in the removal of root canal filling material.4.In conclusion,in order to shorten the time and obtain better cleaning efficiency,we may use PTUR in the straight root canals,and in the curved root canals may use PTUR before stainless steel hand instruments.
