Objective:To explore any changes of electric values from rectus muscle、biceps femoris 、tibialis anterior muscle and gastrocnemius during maximum isometric voluntary contractions in stroke patients with hemiparesis in the process of rehabilitation, and to examine the correlati-on between the muscle activity and fulg-meyer and MMT in stroke patie-nts。Methods:Thirty stroke patients as experiment group and ten hea-lthy volunteers control group were recruited in this study. For all recuited subjects, the sEMG signals were recorded bilaterally from the rectus musc-le(RF)、biceps femoris(BF)、tibialis anterior muscle(TA)and gastrocnemi-us(GM)during their maximum isometric voluntary of knee、ankle exten-sion and flexion, respectively。During training, electric values was meas-ured repetitively from the paretic side once a week。Root mean square(RMS)and integrated EMG(iEMG)of both groups were compared and a-nalyzed.The motor function and muscle strength of lower extremity wer-e assessed by The lower-extremity component of Fugl-Meyer assessment scale(FMA-lE)and manual muscle test(MMT)respectively。Results :There were no significant differences in either RMS or iEMG value between the left and right sides of the healthy volunteers(P> 0.5)。Significant differences existed in RMS、iEMG of the affected RF、BF、TA、GM of ipsilateral(21.60±15.88uV、37.80±33.75 uV.s,13.58 ±8.12uV、25.38±20.03 uV.s,18.03±8.73uV、27.22±21.90 uV.s,14.58± 8.93uV、19.60±18.12 uV.s),campared with the unaffected side of stroke patients and either side of the healthy control group(P<0.5),during knee、ankle xtension and flexion, respectively。The RMS、iEMG of RF、BF、TA、GM on ipsilateral lower limbs was significantly positively correlated with of the scores of FMA-lE and MMT,respectively。Conclusions:The surface electromyography dynamic monitor-ing hemiplegic lower extremity muscle activity of stroke patients can re-flect rehabilitation process, and the motor function and muscle strength recovery as well。sEMG can not only be as a means of rehabilitation eval-uation,but also provides the theoretical basis and guidance for more effe-ctive function training of lower limb in the rehabilitation program。...
