A Case Of Bracketless Invisible Aligner Technology Used In Adult Patients With Dental Crowding And Chronic Periodontitis

Objective:A case of bracketless invisible aligner technology used in adult patients with dental crowding and chronic periodontitis was used.The changes of soft and hard tissues before and after treatment were analyzed.The clinical efficacy and experience in the treatment process of bracketless invisible aligner technology uesd in adult patients with dental crowding and chronic periodontitis was explored.Method:The patient was a female who was 49 years old with dental crowding and admitted to the Stomatological Hospital of Nanchang University in June 2016.She was diagnosed as a Class-I dental malocclusion on a skeletal Class-I pattern,bony class I.She had poor oral hygiene conditions and had periodontal basic treatment in periodontal department of our hospital for “chronic periodontitis”.She had straight facial profile,shallow lip groove.Bilateral molars and canines were neutral relationship.Anterior teeth overbiteⅠ°、overjet is normal.There were Ⅰ° crowding in the upper arch and Ⅲ° crowding in the lower arch.Lower arch midline deviated 2mm to the right.Anterior teeth crossbite,22 small teeth.Bracketless invisible aligner technology was choosed for this patient,extract 42 teeth for treatment.The patient’s jaw,teeth,and soft tissue changes were assessed by comparing the patient’s condition before and after treatment.Result:After 17 months,the upper and lower dentitions were evenly leveled after treatment,the overbite and overjet was normal,maintaining the appearance.Both bilateral molars and occlusion were neutral.The results of cephalometric analysis before and after orthodontic treatment showed that Ul-SN decreased by 0.9°,Ul-NA decreased by 0.5°,Ll-MP increased by 2.7°,Ll-MP increased by 2.7°,Ul-L1 increased by 1.4°,Ll-NB increased by 1.4°,indicated that the upper incisors were retracted.ANB decreased by 0.5°,maintained the original bone surface type.Compared with the preoperative clincheck scheme,the correction goal is basically realized.Conclusion:The bracketless invisible aligner technology treated adult patients with dental crowding and chronic periodontitis has a good curative effect,and the maintenance of light force and periodontal health condition should be paid attention.
