Objective The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between pain, sleep quality and anxiety in middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma, and to explore the relationship between pain, sleep quality and anxiety in middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma, and to provide scientific basis for ophthalmic nursing and knowledge education. Methods In this study,462 middle-aged and elderly glaucoma patients who were treated in three 3-A hospitals in Liaoning province from September 2015 to November 2016 were selected as the research subjects. The general demographic status, pain, sleep quality and anxiety of glaucoma are investigated by general data questionnaire,Brief Pain Inventory(BPI),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS).SPSS19.0 and AMOS21.0 statistical software are used to analyze the data. The general condition of middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma is analyzed by descriptive analysis; The difference between the general condition of middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma and the scores of each study variable is tested by t-test and variance analysis;Pearson correlation analysis is used to test the relationship between pain, sleep quality and anxiety in middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma; And regression analysis and Bootstrap procedures is used to test the quality of sleep in pain and anxiety between the intermediary role. Results 1.The pain score is(37.03±9.31),the incidence of pain is 100%;The sleep quality index score is(8.71±5.59),the incidence of sleep disorder is 55.60%;The anxiety score is(45.33±14.61),the anxiety rate is 41.10%.2.The influence of different demographic data on pain level: gender, age, medical expenses, payment methods, economic burden and family relationship has statistically significant difference in pain scale between middle-aged and elderly patients with glaucoma(P < 0.05).3.The influence of different demographic data on pain level: gender, age, medical expenses, payment methods, economic burden and family relationship has statistically significant difference in sleep quality scale between middle-aged and elderly patients with glaucoma(P < 0.05).4.The influence of different demographic data on pain level: gender, age, medical expenses, payment methods, economic burden and family relationship has statistically significant difference in anxiety scale between middle-aged and elderly patients with glaucoma(P < 0.05).5.There is a positive correlation between pain and sleep quality and anxiety(r=0.416,0.360,P < 0.01),and there is a positive correlation between sleep quality and anxiety(r=0.583,P < 0.01).6.Sleep quality index has some mediating effect between pain and anxiety, the mediating effect is 0.223,the mediating effect to the total effect is 38.51%.Conclusions 1.Middle aged and elderly patients with glaucoma have high pain level, poor sleep quality and high anxiety level.2.Different general demographic data are statistically significant for the study variables.3.Pain,sleep quality and anxiety are significantly correlated,Pain and sleep quality have significant positive predictive effect on anxiety, and there is a significant positive predictive effect on the three groups.4.The sleep quality index has a mediating effect between pain and anxiety, and the involvement of sleep quality reduces the effect of pain on anxiety.
