The Effect Of Acupoint Sticking Therapy For Functional Bloating Of Sthenic Syndrome:a Clinical Trial

Objective:The clinical trial was conducted on patients with functional bloating of sthenic syndrome,and these patients all underwent conventional treatment.The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare the differences in efficacy between acupoint sticking therapy and western medicine oral treatment for functional bloating,and the long-term efficacy was compared to provide basis for clinical treatment of functional bloating.Methods:Under randomized,controlled research method,50 subjects meeting the diagnostic criteria were numbered according to the order of treatment,and they were randomized to the group of acu point sticking therapy(Acupoint sticking group,25 cases)and the other group of conventional western medicine oral treatment(Ora l drug group,25 cases)by random number table method.Preparation of traditional Chinese medicine plaster:first,Selecting equal a mount of the traditional Chinese medicines of woody,coriander,oyster shell,honokiol,rhubarb,tangerine,and one third dose o f borneol grinded into powder.Second,adding the appropriateamou nt of sesame oil to prepared a thick paste.Finally applied on t he desensitization ointment paste for the patient’s corresponding acupoints.The selected acupoints are as follows:Zhongwan(CV12),Xiawan(CV10),Tianshu(ST25 bilateral),Dachangshu(BL25bilat eral),Zusanli(ST36 bilateral).Acupoint application time is 2-6hours each time;consecutive treatment is 5 days,and restis 2 da ys.7 days for a treatment course,and each patient is treated fo r three consecutive courses.While the oral drug group wastreate d with western medicine mosapride oral treatment,and 5mg each t ime,three times a day,7 days for a treatment course,and each pa tient is treated for three consecutive courses.The gastrointest inal symptom scores,the positive rates of lactulose hydrogen br eath test,and the levels of fasting plasma substance P were obs erved pre-treatment and after treatment.All the data were anal yzed statistically by using SPSS 21.0 software Package,and the differences in efficacy between acupoint sticking therapy and w estern medicine oral treatment were compared,and the long-term efficacy at three months after treatment was compared between t he two groups.Results:1.Comparison of two groups of patients within the group:Compared with the pre-treatment scores and rates,the two groups of patients’ scores including gastrointestinal symptom scores,the positive rates of lactulose hydrogen breath test and the levels of fasting plasma P after the treatment were both significantly decreased.A significant difference was observed with obvious effective rate between the two groups(p<0.05).2.Comparison of two groups of patients after treatment:The gastrointestinal symptom scores and the levels of fasting plasma P in the acupoint sticking group were significantly lower than those in the oral drug group(p<0.05);however,the positive rates of lactulose hydrogen breath test was not statistically different from that in the oral drug group(p>0.05).3.Comparison of two groups of patients effectiveness after treatment:In the 24 cases of the acupoint sticking group,4 cases were cured,11 cases were markedly effective,8 cases were effective,1 case was ineffective,and the total effective rate was 95.83%.While in the 23 cases of the oral drug group,3 cases were cured,5 cases were markedly effective,8 cases were effective,7 cases were ineffective,and the total effective rate was 69.57%.The effective rate of the acupoint sticking group was significantly higher than that of the oral drug group,and a significantly difference was observed between the two groups(p<0.05).4.Comparison of two groups of the long-term efficacy:there were 3 cases of recurrence in the acupoint sticking group with the recurrence rate of 13.04%,and 6 cases of recurrence in the oral drug group with the recurrence rate of 37.50%.No significant difference of the recurrence rate was observed between the two groups(p>0.05).Conclusion:The clinical trials showed that acupoint sticking therapy c an effectively improve the gastrointestinal symptoms of patient s with functional bloating,reduce the positive rates of lactulo se hydrogen breath test and the levels of fasting plasma substa nce P.And the efficacy is significantly better than mosapride o ral treatment of improving the gastrointestinal symptoms and re ducing the levels of fasting plasma substance P.Although the cl inical trials shows that the long-term efficacy of acupoint sti cking therapy is not better than mosapride oral treatment,but acupoint sticking therapy has the advantages of safety,painlessn ess,convenience,and no side effects.
