Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Alzheimer’s Disease With Cuzhi Granule Combined With Acupuncture

ObjectiveThrough exploring the effect of Cuzhi Granule combined with Acupuncture on Alzheimer’s cognitive function,overall intellectual,and ability of daily living,observing and comparing the therapeutic effect on Alzheimer’s by Cuzhi Granule combined with Acupuncture or by pure Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets,this thesis will provide reliable basis for the clinical treatment of Alzheimer’s.Methods100 patients with Alzheimer’s disease were randomly divided into observation group and control group according to random digital table method,50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets alone.The observation group was treated with Cuzhi granule combined with acupuncture.The two groups were on the basis of therapy,combined with the corresponding psychological nursing and intelligence training.Before and after 24 weeks of treatment,each group was assessed with the Alzheimer’s disease assessment(ADAS-cog)scale,the simple mental state examination scale(MMSE)score and the daily living ability assessment(ADL)scale to assess the severity of cognitive impairment,the overall intelligence level and daily living ability.The effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed,and the adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and recorded.Results1.Suspension/Shedding Case24 weeks after treatment,there were 2 shedding cases in the Control group,and 1 case in the Observation group.There was no statistic difference in shedding cases of 2 groups(P>0.05).2.Base-line informationThere was no statistically difference on general data of two groups,like gender,age,course of disease,ADAS-cog score,MMSE score & ADL score,at comparable scale(P>0 0.05).3.Therapeutic effect3.1 After 24-week-treatment,the ADAS-cog scores of two groups were obviously lower comparing prior treatment(P<0.05),and MMSE scores were increased(P<0.05).Meanwhile after 24-week-treatment,the ADAS-cog scores of the Observation group were significantly lower than the Control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).And the MMSE scores of the Observation group were significantly higher than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(t=9.079,P<0.001).The ADL scores of two groups after 24-week-treatment were obviously different within each group(P<0.05).After 24 weeks treatment,the ADL score of the Observation group was significantly lower than the Control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.2 After 24-week-treatment,ORR(Overall Response Rate)of the Observation group was 89.58%,while the Control group was 73.47%,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).3.3 During the course of treatment,nausea,loss of appetite & diarrhea happened to 3 cases in the Observation group after 4-week-treatment,but improved after symptomatic treatment.Diarrhea,loss of appetite & headache happened to 6 cases in the Control group,but disappeared after correlation processing.And there were no obvious abnormality on Liver & Renal function and laboratory examinations of 2 groups.ConclusionCuzhi Granule combined with Acupuncture therapy can significantly alleviate the improvement of clinical symptoms in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease,with the score,suggesting that The combination of Cuzhi Granule and Acupuncture has a good clinical effect in improving the cognitive function,overall intelligence level and daily living abilityof the patients.It help to delay the progression of the disease,the treatment effect was better than the Donepezil Hydrochloride Tablets single treatment,and less adverse reaction,high safety.
