Objective: To investigate the relationship between AASI,hs-CRP and carotid atherosclerosis in elderly patients with EH.Methods: A total of 149 elderly EH patients were recruited from the The Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2014 to December 2016.Among,90 were males and 59 were females, aged from 66 to 88 years old(74± 6)years old, based on ABPM,calculated AASI,parallel carotid ultrasound, laboratory examination of serum hs-CRP levels and IMT.From the data analysis, the correlation between AASI and hs-CRP level and carotid artery IMT was obtained. Results: 1 The 24 h SBP,AASI,hs-CRP,TC and LDL-C levels in the thickening group and the plaque formation group were higher than the normal group. The HDL-C was lower than normal group(P<0.05);The hs-CRP level was increased with the carotid IMT(P<0.01),between the thickening group and the plaque formation group. The difference was also statistically significant(P<0.05).2 Correlation analysis showed that carotid artery IMT was positively correlated with AASI,serum hs-CRP,TC,LDI-C,age,and negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05).Conclusion: AASI and hs-CRP are associated with the formation of carotid atherosclerosis in elderly patients with EH.The increase of hs-CRP and AASI accelerates the formation of atherosclerosis.AASI can be used as a predictor of carotid atherosclerosis in elderly patients with EH.The level of hs-CRP is closely related to AASI.Both of them are involved in the development of AS.
