Objective:To compare the similarities and differences of protein synthesis ability and metabolic function between two human liver cell lines HepG2 and C3 A in vitro,to evaluate the feasibility of their application in bioartificial liver, and to lay a foundation for their application in tissue engineering and clinical medicine. Methods:The two kinds of hepatocytes were cultured under the same inoculation density for 7days.The morphology and function of the two kinds of hepatocytes were observed, and the metabolism of albumin, diazepam in the culture medium were detected. Results:The growth rate of the two liver cell lines was high,Compared with HepG2,C3 A has a good function of albumin synthesis and stable metabolism. Conclusion:The two kinds of hepatocytes have good proliferative ability,C3 A has good albumin synthesis and stable metabolism ability,However, its ability is poor and needs further improvement. The function of HepG2 cells is poor,so it is not suitable for bioartificial liver.
