| "Jincheng Problem" was a famous example of discrimination in the Book ofDocuments in Qing Dynasty. Shang Shu Gu Wen Shu Zheng(《尚书古文疏证》)written by Yan Ruo-qu uncovered the Kong An-guo’s Commentary on the Bookof Documents (Kong’s Commentary in short) had faked in the place "Jincheng" lateappearance, which was agreed unanimously. But only the modern scholar Zhang Yanchallenged Yan Ruo-qu’s version foundation on Huang Zi-hong in Qing Dynasty.Because the Kong’s Commentary didn’t speak in detail, what the place"Jincheng" signified was a big controversy. The focus of the "Jincheng Problem" waswhat did the district Jincheng mean, an eparchy(郡) or a county(县)? And weather therecords in Dayuan Biography of Historical Records(《史记·大宛列传》)was writtenby the followers. Academicians not only haven’t confirm the exact location of the coreplace Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty, but also had a deviation in Determining theauthenticity of Kong An-guo’s Commentary by "Jincheng Problem", only seized onepoint, and didn’t do enough in correlation research, especially in the ubiety of MountJishi and Jincheng Eparchy (or County) which should be further discussed. The article firstly discussed the argument about "Jincheng Problem" among thescholastic circles, and identified the Dayuan Biography of Historical Records hadn’tbeen written by future generations. For the rest, the article made an additionaldiscuss about the mistake that Zhang Yan refuted Yan Ruo-qu.To ascertain the location of Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty is the key to the"Jincheng Problem". By researching the origin record of the location of Mount Jishi,we can see that the Mount Jishi had a close relationship with the source of the YellowRiver. Thus the article placed the Mount Jishi under the setting of the Problem of theSource of the Yellow River to have a further discussion, and analyze the formingprocess of the Yellow River’s Secondary Source Undercurrent theory(重源潜流) indetail, it could be concluded that the predecessors had misunderstood on Zhang Qian’sreport in the Dayuan Biography of Historical Records, people in the Western HanDynasty hadn’t thought the Secondary Source of the Yellow River rises in MountJishi. Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty was the outcome of the theory that the YellowRiver had a Secondary Source, which appeared after the Ancient Book of Documents(古文《尚书》) had been on the upgrade. The ancient classical scholars confirmed theplaces in the Book of Documents, the most remarkable characteristic was laying theancient places under the administrative region of Western Han Dynasty. Thus we canconclude that the location of the Mount Jishi was confirmed later than theestablishment of Heguan County(河关县).The predecessors hadn’t made sure the location of Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty. The Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty wasn’t the Aemye Ma-chhen Range(阿尼玛卿山)which is also called the Great Jishi(大积石), but is the E-La Mountains(鄂拉山)near to the Hequ(河曲),which is also called Tangnaihai Bend of the Yellow river(唐乃亥湾), the predecessors had never referred to it. Kong’s Commentary didn’t knownwhere the Mount Jishi in Han Dynasty had been, but consider the Little Jishi as theMount Jishi in the Tribute of Yu(《禹贡》), for the rest it took over the story that theYellow River had an undercurrent between the Salt Marsh(盐泽) and the Mount Jishi, which appeared in Eastern Han Dynasty. Kong’s Commentary had slipped up in manyrespects, it had by no means been written by Kong An-guo in Western Han Dynasty. |
