A Report On The Translation Of A Red Blouse Without Buttons(Excerpts)

This is a translation report on the novel A Red Blouse Without Buttons, which is a youth novel written by a Chinese writer Tie Ning. I chose the material and have completed the translation of this novel. This report analyzed the first four chapters of the translated novel and consists of four parts, including task description, translation process, case analysis and translation practice summary. Task description consists of three parts, including task source, text description and project significance. Translation process describes how to conduct and arrange the translation work, including four procedures, preparation, first draft, revision and final draft. Case analysis is the most important part of the report, illustrating how the author deals with the figures of speech, spoken language, etc and reproduce the semantics and style of the original text under the guidance of the Text Typology and by the using of translation skills. The translation practice summary generalizes the gains and shortages in the translation practice. Through the translation practice, the author has accumulated the experience of novel translation, and meanwhile recognized the shortages. The novel translation is a difficult project and requires the translator to be equipped with deep knowledge of literature and connoisseurship and deliberate every difficult point. The author will continuously improve the literary cultivation and translation ability.
