This thesis uses network content analysis and individual analysis, systematically investigates the Online Class from the aspects of teaching materials, teaching methodology and teachers. We also propose corresponding improved strategies with a view to promoting the construction of Confucius Institute and the development of Chinese international education. This thesis consists of five chapters, the details are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, including the background of the topic, the significance of the topic, research status and research methods.The second chapter is the functions of the Online Class rendering by web page and the specific investigation methods. This section describes course categories of the Online Class through eight classification, shows various functions of the real-time web page of the Online Class, determines that the scope of the investigation is all courses of the Online Class from May 2014 to June 2015, and expresses that the samples of the survey is based on the difficulty level of the courses.The third chapter is the teaching materials of the Online Class. This chapter defines the scope of teaching materials, and provides an overview on the meaning and functions of each kind of teaching materials. This chapter investigates the usage of teaching materials of the Online Class from the aspects of textbook, courseware, as well as other teaching materials. We reveal the results with illustrations and descriptions. This chapter also presents the improved strategies of drawing lessons from textbooks and developing multimedia courseware.The fourth chapter is the teaching methodology of the Online Class.This chapter discusses various connotations of teaching methods, and introduces the meanings of follow online classes with illustrations and descriptions: "MOOC" "Micro Lessons" and "the Flipped Classroom". This chapter investigates the usage of teaching methodology of the Online Class from the representative aspects: teaching steps, teaching principles and teaching methods.This chapter also presents the improved strategies of refining teaching steps and strengthening teaching principles.The fifth chapter is the teachers of the Online Class. This chapter discusses the role of the Online Class teachers, describes teacher quality of the Online Class, and shows the room for growth of the Online Class teachers.We deepen the study through individual case.
