Books accompany children in their growing experience and reading is one of the most important media for them to acquire knowledge.Therefore,this thesis focuses on “education through entertainment”,i.e.how to endow books with more interesting design in order to render children in love with reading involuntarily and to guide them to make friends with books from which they could absorb knowledge like playing a fun game.First,this thesis demonstrates the basic concept of interactive books for kids and points out its importance and necessity and then lists its advantages compared to traditional books to further confirm the practicability of realizing “education through entertainment”.Second,this thesis makes a thorough analysis on children’s game mentality and Piaget’s cognitive system and thus confirms children’s psychological and biological development traits of different age stages to identify the target consumer groups.In the end,it analyzes the size requirement for children in different age stages and takes the five senses into thedesign of books for kids,which imbue books with fascinating forms as well as profound content.
