The Diachronic Evolvement Of "VP+Qu"

In this paper,the author discusses the development and change of a common syntactic structure since Qin Dynasty as well as Ming and Qing Dynasty which is "VP + qu" from the angles of internal semantic and syntactic format.There are three development stages about"VP + qu" from the angles of syntactic format and internal semantic since Qin Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasty.The first stage is from Qin Dynasty to Wei and Jin Dynasty,this period was germination period.In this period,the word out in the structure "VP + qu" means"away",the whole structure was simplex including "V + qu","V + qu+ NP","V + NP + qu","NP + V + qu",and "V + L + qu"."VP+qu" and "V+qu+NP" stand for two sustainable actions or "VP" means the way of "qu" in semantic.The meaning of "qu"changed in Wei and Jin Dynasty from "away" to "go" which led to the change of "VP+qu",and in some syntax examples,the internal semantic changed of "VP+ qu" format.Lu Jianming(1985)pointed that there are five kinds of "VP + qu" of modern Chinese in this period:"VP" means purpose;"VP" means the termination of moving,and Mr.Lu didn’t mention about "qu" means trend of moving.Although it was concentrated in semantic,it was simplex in syntax structure that every semantic had only one syntax structure and only a few examples emerging at the same time.The second stage is Sui and Tang Dynasty,this was the development period about syntax structure and semantic change of "VP + qu".In this period,"VP + qu" heritage Wei,Jin,North-South Dynasties,there was no new semantic,and its development mainly performed in the increase of amount and complicate the syntax structure.The third stage is Song Yuan Ming and Qing dynasties,this was mature stage of development of the syntax formats and internal semantic of "VP + qu".In this period,many common semantic of "VP +qu" emerged in modern Chinese,and a special modern Chinese purpose of "VP + qu" and "qu+ VP +qu" also appeared as well as more complex on the basis of Sui and Tang Dynasties.The special structures to press purposes of "VP + qu" and "qu + VP + qu" appeared in this period including 5 parts within introduction and conclusion.Chapter 1:This chapter has been studies on the "qu" and "VP + go" of the structure of a brief review,describes the contents of this paper,the cause and significance of topics,sources and corpus were It explained.In the Chapter 2,"VP +" development from Qin to Wei and Jin Dynasties.This chapter is divided into three sections describe the "VP +" development to Qin,Wei and Jin Dynasties.The first part of "VP + go" in Qin(Qin containing)usage period,noting that during this period "to" more alone as the predicate verb,enter-linked constitute "VP + go" case of the structure is not common.The second part introduces the "VP + go" in the development of the Han Dynasty,the Han Dynasty "VP + go" structure began to rise,both mainly in the V"+ qu","V + to + NP" formats.This period of "V + qu" structure-linked semantically there inheritance Southern and Northern Dynasties,no new semantic emergence,its development mainly in complex sentences and an increased number of syntactic format."Go"and "to" meaning produced in Southern and Northern Dynasties to Tang Dynasty,universal application."Go" and "to"meaning universal application is caused by "VP + to" the rapid development of the internal semantic structure prerequisite.Purposes "VP + go" is the most widely used in modern Chinese semantic one,this semantic "VP + go" is also produced in this period.We believe that the table purpose of "VP + to" produce the format is "qu" notional meaning changes and pragmatic factors jointly promote the results,through the "L + go"-"L+ VP + go"-"VP +qu" development process.In Chapter 4,"VP + qu"development in Ming and Qing period:This chapter describes the "VP + qu" in the Ming and Qing periods of usage.During this period "VP + go"semantic structure more fully developed,modern Chinese "VP + qu" seven semantics all appear,as well as commonly used in modern Chinese "qu + VP + qu" structure is also produced in this period.Syntactic structure of each semantic more diversified on the basis of the Sui Dynasty.In the last section,the author summarizes the syntax structure and development of "VP +qu" from early period of Qin Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasties.The structure of "VP +qu" is gradually becoming maturity in internal semantic from early period in Qin Dynasty to Song,Yuan,Ming,and Qing dynasties.In the Southern and Northern Dynasties is an important stage,"qu" and "go" meaning generation,"VP + go" structure produced a qualitative change,"qu" gradually developed from Consecutive Verbs main verb to supplement ingredient verb the whole "VP + go" internal semantic changes also followed.To the Sui and Tang Dynasties "VP + to" the internal structure of the semantics follow the development of Southern and Northern Dynasties,there is no increase in the semantic categories,mainly in the various semantic syntax format began to become complicated with increasing the sentence numbers.In Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties,"VP + go" internal semantic and syntactic structure for further development in Sui and Tang Dynasties,semantically modern Chinese" VP + go"common semantics have emerged,more complex syntactic format is the" mature stage "VP + go " in internal semantic and syntactic structure development.
