At present,due to the increasing deterioration of the natural ecological environment and frequent natural disasters,human beings' living condition faces the unprecedented challenges.The increasingly serious ecological crisis has triggered more and more people's attention and thinking.The classic novel Julie of the Wolves written by Jean Craighead George who is an American female writer has presented vividly the harmonious coexistence of people and animals as well as human beings and nature.Meanwhile,it also illustrates the author's concern for killing animals and destructing nature.In brief,the novel grasps tightly the lifeblood of the time and shows a natural song of the deep affection between man and wolves.This thesis intends to employ Heidegger's philosophical concept poetical dwelling and the theory of eco-criticism to interpret the novel Julie of the Wolves,demonstrating the complex relationship between man and nature,man and others as well as man and himself.The thesis mainly focuses on Julie's pursuit for natural ecology,social ecology and spiritual ecology,aiming to explore the ecological elements endowed in the novel.Finally,the thesis manifests enlightenment of poetical dwelling on the modern world,especially for human beings' habitation as well as for the industrial and technological development.While in the face of industrial civilization,human beings can own a kind of surpassing spirit through poetical dwelling.On the basis of the deep reflection of the root of mankind's spiritual crisis,poetical dwelling advocates to desert all kinds of emotions and return to natural existence.In pursuit of a sort of primitive way,human beings attempt to let the soul belong to the sky and earth to seek for a kind of free state.Through analyzing the ecological connotation contained in the novel and George's strong sense of ecological concern,the author expects that human beings can reflect afresh the ecological crisis that modern people are confronting with.Meanwhile,the author also appeals humans to seek for the poetical life,looking forward to the natural habitation and the return of humans' nature.
