| As China interacts with the rest of the world more frequently in politics and economy as well, Chinese enterprises obtain a growing number of opportunities in the global market. Under these circumstances, the English version of a company’s website will greatly help its products better known by target buyer and to build business relationship as well. Hence, a qualified English translation of the website serves as an efficient tool in exploring the international market. Though there are a series of papers about foreign trade company website and its translation, few are particularly aimed at the translation of die manufacturing enterprise. That’s the reason the author of this translation report chooses the subject. This translation practice report is based on the task of "translating the official website of Shanghai Superior Die Technology Co., Ltd". It is made up of four parts:introduction, task process description, case analysis and conclusion, in which the case analysis is the most important part of this report. Firstly, the report describes Nida’s "Functional Equivalence "as the guidance of this report; Secondly, it points out that in translation, the author has confronted four difficulties:the translation of and technical words &terms; translation of position titles in SSDT official website; translation of sentences without subjects; translation of long and complex sentences. And Thirdly, the author has adopted several translation method such as literal translation, annotation, omission to solve these difficulties separately. Besides, the translation task report is accomplished with English translation of examples.This report, based on the author’s version of translating of the official website of Shanghai Superior Die Technology Co. Ltd, to a certain degree, has some value for translators practicing translation of auto die manufacture enterprise official website. |
