Based on text features of tourism text,this practice report inquiries the conversion among modifying verbs,modifying nouns and adjectives in translation with Browse of Ancient Chinese Architecture and Classic Gardens as translation material.Analysis based on examples shows that word conversion does possess ability to cope with the similar problems.In Browse of Ancient Chinese Architecture and Classic Gardens,the characteristics of ancient Chinese architecture are the emphases to introduce.So the difficulties in translation show in the plenty of modifying expressions,such as a sequence of adjectives which disturbs the mainline in translation,and the nouns serving as adjectives causing unnecessary or absent sentence constituents,what’s more,the modifying verbs adopted in the sentences where the lifeless objects serve as subjects.Therefore,in this article,the three types of expressions of modification are focused,which are modifying verb,modifying noun and adjectives.The solution came up in the article is Word Conversion with the hope to help the later translator to deal with the similar materials with some new ideas: to converse the modifying verb into noun and adjective,to converse modifying noun into verb and adjective and to converse adjectives into verb and noun,the conversion would converse the part of speech of the modifying expressions to fully convey the original intension.
