A Practice Report On Simulative Consecutive Interpreting Of "Making Concerted Efforts To Build The Chinese Dream"

After the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping put forward the concept of the Chinese Dream which embodies the important governing thoughts and philosophy of the new leading group of the central government.It also received extensive attention home and abroad.The Chinese Dream is a reflection of the current state of our social atmosphere and spiritual outlook.We should introduce the Chinese Dream to foreign people who are increasingly interested in China.Only in this way,can the rest of the world have a better understanding of China.This essay is a simulative interpreting practice report on consecutive interpreting from Chinese to English.The interpreting material is a series of lectures,called “Making Concerted Efforts to Build the Chinese Dream” which gives a general introduction of the Chinese Dream.The lectures contain the introduction of China’s social,economic and political development in the modern times as well as the development process of the Communist Party of China.This essay gives an introduction of the whole process of the simulative interpreting practice,including preparation before interpreting,the interpreting process and introspection after the interpreting.According to the characteristics of C-E interpreting,based on the simulative consecutiveinterpreting practice of “Making Concerted Efforts to Build the Chinese Dream” and from the perspective of interpretive theory,this essay discusses the problems occurred in C-E consecutive interpreting and comes up with relevant solutions through case analysis.In the part “problems in the process of interpreting and solutions based on the perspective of interpretative theory”,according to the problems of lack of equivalence between Chinese words and English words and the illogical sentence structure in interpretation,from the perspective of the interpretative theory,the writer put forward the solutions of emotion equivalence interpreting and culture transfer as well as determining the subject of the sentence and sentence restructuring.
